Yeah Barret looked like a guy reacting to a serious injury or a child in a supermarket throwing a tantrum and we know he had no injury whatever.

stall the ball..if Austin was that sick he should not have played, been allowed play or whatever, I have great time for him despite my viewing of his pulling in club game some years ago, it was criminal what he done, but, still a great player, doenst get into the game as much as he is more than capable though...but getting back to him being sick, dont care who you are, if your that sick you shouldnt be allowed play...regardless of who you are or what county etc.

He should have saved those antics for the final whistle.

Exactly, as I said elsewhere I had my hand broken twice playing hurling and I did not go on with any of Barrett's nonsense. I have no doubt Gullane would have gone if Barrett had not put on such 'a grand performance'. Anyone who goes to such rounds to get an opponent put off has no confidence in his own teams capacity to beat the opposition, with their full compliment.

I agree with the sick part. In fact Waterford sacrificed Conor because Austin should have been suspended. It back fired because with Conor on and Austin off sick they may have won. It is now a well known fact Waterford were told one of the appeals would be successful but not both. The helmet thing penalizing went high priority for awhile and it is not a good thing to be doing but compared to some of the things seen lately how does it compare ? Attempts to take the guys helmet off with his head in it. Get back to Austin now he can't give a shoulder or he is blown or yellow carded. If Frank Cummins was playing now he would be off every game. I said it at the time Barrett has an Oscar coming up and that probable decided it. Gullane should have been red carded but glad he was not because of the performance. The unfair part is he gets to play the next game and Gleeson does not. Similar offences. Hitting or attempting to hit with the hurley. I feel as an amateur player that inconsistency is regrettable and looking at it as the recipient you must feel where is the justice. It is different as a pro you are playing all season and getting paid. This is the second time Conor misses a major game. It is hard to argue with this one but the first one was just wrong from a few different prospectives.

I agree Canuck, that it is regrettable. I just wonder in Gullane's case if the linesman saw something like Barrett having hit Gullane and the latter having retaliated. However if that was he should have yellow carded or put off both of them. I remember when Gulland was put off in '18 his opponent was yellow carded for his part in the Shananagans. However I wish all the best on Saturday and I hope Conor will get a chance to play the following week end.
