What are peoples views for the game on Sunday? Southsham (Limerick) - Posts: 752 - 16/07/2021 10:17:50 2360317 Link 0 |
Looking forward to it. Limerick to win. No one gets knocked out so don't get too apprehensive. There will be bigger battles to come.

Although Tipp have the potential to beat anyone on a given day, I think Limerick will win this. They're a more consistent team and you generally know what you're going to get from them. They tend not to drop below a certain level of performance. Tipp are more unpredictable. Both could definitely end up meeting again. I'd give Tipp a better chance in an All-Ireland final in Croker. Think limerick by 5..the legs of younger limerick players to be telling in last quarter..the discipline of both will be interesting and looking forward to seeing match ups on both sides..a huge bearing is likely the conditioning of both teams as it's suppose to be scorching on Sunday..hoping for a great game and a limerick win..best of luck.. Tipp are a better more experienced team than Cork who really should have won their Semi Final. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2553 - 16/07/2021 12:48:56 2360384 Link 0 |
Reminds me of the theories we had in our youth! We beat them by 5 and they beat them by 7 so we should win this game! If Limerick play well, I can see only one outcome here.. Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1467 - 16/07/2021 13:28:53 2360400 Link 0 |
I cant see Tipp having the pace that Cork had to create those chances. I don't think Limerick will be as poor as the last day I think they ll just shade it by a couple of points.

For the first time on here, I agree with you.

the weather is going to have a big bearing on this match. tipp have a lot of mileage on the clock. will they have the legs to see out this game ....its going to be boiling on sunday afternoon giving 27 degrees . bench will play a huge part on this game as its going to be energy sapping. im predicting a close battle for 50/ 55 minutes with limericks youth and slightly stronger bench getting them over the line . limerick by 5. munsterchamps (Limerick) - Posts: 1136 - 16/07/2021 15:49:48 2360444 Link 0 |
Id give Tipperary the nod here. The 3 in a row in Munster has not been done since 1989, and while Limerick are an excellent team, I feel Tipp are ready. Cannot see the same margin as there was in the championship clash of 19 & 20 either way. Just have a feeling there is one more kick in Tipp and they will want to reverse the trend of the result of this fixture of recent years. Tipp by 4 points. The two best teams in the country over the past 3 years or so. This should be a cracker. It could go to extra-time. Whichever side utilizes their bench better should shade it. Limerick by two points after extra time, but it's going to be one hell of a battle. foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 2196 - 16/07/2021 15:59:37 2360449 Link 0 |
The Munster Final is just a staging post. Both teams move on. To cut to the chase, I believe we are looking at a Limerick v Kilkenny AI Final. St.Mologga (Cork) - Posts: 121 - 16/07/2021 16:26:39 2360458 Link 0 |

Twelve points in the blistering sun two years ago, nine points better in blinding rain last year, the margin will be closer on Sunday, but the the overall result will be the same. The Treaty abu.

Tipp won't need pace to create chances....that team are all pure natural gifted hurlers who will just get the ball and shoot over the bar from 60/70 yards (no running required just catch the ball and bam over the bar) lk are huffing and puffing all year especially in the league.... the last day v Cork they stumbled over the line.. (Wexford would have beaten them) They are a tired, vulnerable team who are burnt-out. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2553 - 16/07/2021 19:25:15 2360491 Link 0 |
I'd say you are suffering from some wishful thinking there Katser. And you are forgetting that Limerick probably have a height advantage too. Of course they could lose. Any team can. I just dont think they will.

Tipp are a good team, but hardly that good. Would they have beaten Clare if they had not been gifted two goals, one from a very dubious penalty award and another from a very poor goalkeeping error. I agree it will be close but over the past fifty year LK have edged most of the cliff hanging games involving these two sides.I call to mind '73, 75 '78. 81 '95 '96 2007 by 3, '13, '14 and '18 all close games or draws, which Limerick won the second day. So unless Tipp beat us by about 7 or eight points I do not see it happening. Anyway a loss on Sunday for either side would not be the end of the World.

I'd say Tipp by 3 in a mild upset. Should be a good match either way. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 2487 - 16/07/2021 22:21:28 2360529 Link 1 |
