Replying To rhudson:  "Well i dont know what people think
But i really feel we should have our All Ire Final in Sep
For gods sake its only going to be 2 countys involved
We are trying to compress our champioship too much
Every County should have a fair cut at it
With 2 week between each game easily achieved"
Seriously?

No consideration for the club player at all?

Pushing finals back to September means every county involved in the championship will have to delay their club schedule. So you possibly have a few thousand players waiting for 30 odd lads to finish up with the county. Clubs players got sick of it and the CPA and Covid helped achieve a restructure.

I myself are all for knockout championship at county level if it gives us more time with the club. I'd rather see more activity at club level than county level to be honest.

I believe after the first few penalties for supposedly cynical fouling there was only one or two committed afterwards. So it was a deterrent. Now that they are not called what do you think will happen ? The shirt will be pulled off your back as you bare down on goal. Players play the rules as they see them implemented. Goals win games so give up the point. The rule was made a mess of. Obviously the refs were told not to call it. Owens followed what was ridiculously laid out for him and then we end up with an out and out penalty ignored on Sunday. James is the goat and Horgan is a the greatest ref of all time. Go figure. I looked again at the Fives one. There may have a foul before but Shane committed no foul at all. The ref pointed at him and put him in the bin. The penalty was scored and Waterford lost the game by three points despite being out played. The rest is history as we headed through the maze of four games in row. Clare had the same fate afterwards.
Do you know the must important part of the Munster championship as played ? The hat. If you are drawn to play a quarter final your chances of having to play four games in a row increased drastically. If not you could plan your summer completely different.

They will have that next year and bear in mind you're from a county with no provincial club cship whereby the effort to get the club cship finished has always been in ridiculously slow in Galway.
It's high time that the club got some decent weather for cship games and I see a great buzz around Tipp at the min for senior club games.

I agree. Always thought September finals date should be maintained. Maybe this matter could addressed again possibly in Congress.

The Galway Club Championship is so intense its as good as a Provincial.
I concer 100%, our Championship should have been started a month ago...all the lads I know are mad to get the Club Championship going!!
Oh I love the Galway Club Championship, with the battles, and excitement and rivalry!

I think the cynical play rule should be the same as football. Why not? Makes it easier for refs too. This goal scoring opportunity and that kind of thing is wide open to interpretation and as you say James Owens was vilified for following what was wrote down. Now he is probably experienced enough to have known better than doing what he done. The funny thing at club level in hurling is lads screaming for a throw ball and then their team does the exact same seconds later. If Fergal Horgan isn't going to implement it at the All-ireland Final in Croke Park why should someone on a Monday night in a Junior B game.

Limerick happy to live with that. Long may it continue. Dito for the water breaks an d 4 20 minute periods. Lads need a chance to hydrate.

Its the other team's fault when they initiate the "foul play". Why do so many posters need to resort to selective recall instead of considering the effect(result0 rather than the cause( provocation.)

The answer is pretty obvious when you look at it. Posters have their own hidden agenda in trying to disparage, sway or create a false narrative to discredit opposing players, teams, and managers. Same ploy is commonly used by many "pundits" to manipulate "the power of the microphone" or the pen. Several names jump to mind from RTE. live commentators and "scions" Sunday Game
Central to all of this again: "what do we do to get these Limerick upstarts out of here, and return the sharing of the spoils to Big Three as of the last 25 years.

Kilkenny leas to pontificate on "unsportsmanlike " behavior, the usual defense being, " physical game" 'man"s game" and so on ,ad nauseum.

I agree with rhudson. When it was later there were counties who did not get there championships up and running for weeks after getting knocked out and some the last to finish. I know they have many competitions to run but there was a culture of teams getting posponments if their aunty Joshie in America died. There should be a mandatory two week break before semi finals and also the final. I also agree that the club players deserve to play in better weather conditions and believe planning can achieve that. The value of the league is what I question. Managers, punters, players come out and says the league means nothing so why is the GAA accommodating it while pushing teams with a relentless schedule in the championship. Scrap the league. Provincial championships as a meaning full early competition and a a separate draw for the ALL-Ireland series.

Deliberately breaking an opponent's hurl in an All Ireland final, right in front of the linesman and referee? Post me a link to where a Kilkenny player has done the same, like a good man.

It must be like heaven for you to have a hurling championship that Limerick teams can't enter : )

The win is going to your head Breezy! Limerick teams haven't exactly ruled the roost in the club championship. Maybe a spell in the Galway championship might get them up to the necessary level.

Absolutely, it was nothing short of a pure scandal!!
I've never seen a Kilkenny man do anything like that.
Mulcahy was embarrassed either way... the sub who was substituted or be left on the field and get sent off to join the limrik Red Card Brigade.
Terrible unsporting but I'd expect nothing less anyway.

Spouting absolutel rubbish as usual.
Of course it was unsporting behaviour and could/should have been punished with a yellow card.

Yes, that wasn't very nice out of Mulcahy at all. No such rule exists for breaking a hurley like that. Congress better convene fast and lively before the league begins to introduce a rule to deal with it, or we might not have an ash stick left in the game.
