Surely the order that the provincial finals was played in has no bearing on who is better?

And so we are down to the last four, Dublin, Mayo, Kerry, and Tyrone for the moment in no particular order if for no other reason than to keep the ego sensitive posters happy.

No. 1 Dublin are the undisputed No. 1 team in the country.

No. 2 I have sited Mayo as worthy contenders for the second spot, lots of reasons for that, like their never say die attitude, their resilience, their tenacity, long before the Connaught final I gave Mayo the No. 2 spot a couple of posters didn't agree but I refused to change it, and still do, I am not for a minute saying my opinion is correct and gospel, simply my opinion.

No. 3 So now let's look at other posters favourites for the No. 2 spot and possibly the team to dismantle the Dub's, some here are selecting Kerry to be the team to save gaelic football even before a ball was kicked in the munster final, they beat a Tipperary side that held on to div.3 by the skin of their teeth, Kerry then met Cork in the munster final and walloped them out the gate in 35 mins, a Cork side that didn't take the field for the second half but sent out 15 A.N. OTHER'S from the goal keeper down corner forward, and please don't tell me I'm being disrespectful of Cork because that is not in my nature.

No. 4 We are now left with Tyrone being a part of Ulster that Is "Keeping Gaelic Football Alive" some are saying Tyrone had the toughest games to fight off to get to the semi final, accounting for Cavan at the time were current Ulster champions they say, then the accounted for a very fancied tried and tested Monaghan side that were seen as possible contenders for a place in the All-Ireland final, they are also saying that Tyrone will account for Kerry on their track record through the Ulster championship alone. If you look back a few posts you will see where I predicted a draw after 70 mins between Tyrone and Monaghan, I lost out by a point.

After all that this is how they allegedly should stand.
1. Dublin. 2. Tyrone. 3. Kerry. 4. Mayo

The pressure is now off Kerry and Mayo so it's now up to Tyrone at No. 2 and good luck with that, although it's sometimes better to "sing dumb" than "Saynothing"

due to covid have watched a lot of Ladies football this year, far better game to watch with the play moving forward most of the time unlike some of the mens teams, especially Dublin, just keeping possession. and passing the ball back and sideways for minutes at a time. . Some of the rules in the ladies game would improve the mens game as well, especially the keeper kicking out from his hands.

The winner of the All Ireland will most likely come from the Dublin - Mayo game.

Would you care to be more specific, seeing as the Dub's are going for 7 in a row surely that in its self should make them at least slight favorites, are they that evenly matched.??

Dublin are reining all Ireland champions, no one can deny them that, Mayo have stopped them in their tracks from going for 7. Some are saying the Dub's have regressed, a small few percentage point perhaps, that's about it. Let's be honest here, the Dub's owned the first 30 / 35 mins, lady luck was nowhere to be seen to assist Mayo, there was some terrible missed calls by the referee that in itself could have caused Mayo to crumble let's be honest about that, and let's be honest too about the fact that there was a ginormous monkey on the backs of Mayo senior teams since 2014 for the very obvious reasons, the retaking of that free just before full time was a turning point, but not the reason why Mayo were victorious. The reason was because of their never say die attitude, their resilience, their tenacity and stubbornness. The Dub's haven't regressed, they may have stagnated a bit, nothing more though, as they will start by winning next year's leinster final again, fact. The gaa at the highest level will be celebrating Mayo's victory over Dublin thinking that the playing field has now been levelled, all problems have been solved, the back door can be reintroduced and a 3 tiered system can be scrapped.
In conclusion, I hope Tyrone get whatever time they need to prepare for their meeting with Kerry.

All good and well having winning underage teams , but its another matter having a structure in place to identify the talents and progress them into a senior role.

It does amaze me how we tend to waste a lot of time, energy and effort on "I told ye so" and the like. Their are no prizes for it, are there?

If you predicted that Mayo would make it this year then good for you. Mayo have lost one of the top sharpshooters of this generation, their captain had a nightmare in the semi final and they were very feeble in the first half of that match on their own kickouts and when retaining possession. Horan, to his eternal credit, did not start wailing and gnashing his teeth, preferring instead to logically work his team out of the hole they had dug for themselves.

Kerry, on the other hand, have looked far better on paper this year. Games aren't won on paper. The team has talent. Their skill levels are high. Their work ethic is amazing. What remains to be seen is if they can show the necessary dog in the white heat of the business end of the championship.

Tyrone used to prove in the noughties that team spirit, collective resolve and the furious application of a game plan can work to their benefit. This year's preparations have been terrible for them. The delays have been terrible for the teams remaining in the competition. That said, it would have been terrible most of all if the Kerry v Tyrone semi final hadn't gone ahead. So now, let's let the lads on both teams do their talking on the pitch and we can revert to type in the bar after, hissing and spitting at the Sunday Game panel. Amen.
