Paddy at least did get one in 2019, so has had some recognition. Kevin McLoughlin has never been given an all-star despite years of consistent brilliance. I think he was nominated a couple of times and if Mayo had won one or some of those finals I'm sure he'd have been honoured.

i was happy to see Ian Burke's club form rewarded... it was a bit of a precedent but they seem to have mislaid that mould since.

In fairness, I'd say the defending Ulster & all Ireland champions had shorter odds in 2013 when they were beaten by a division 3 team. I often heard it said that you should never forget the hole in the **** of your last pair of pants, when you get a new pair so I am just reminding you of the draft ….
