Can Anyone Name A More Forgone Conclusion Of A Competition Than The Leinster Football Championship?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Just interested to know can anyone name a more dominant or forgone conclusion of a competition than the Leinster football championship where the same team as won it for the past 10 years or 15 out of 16 times. It can be a GAA club championship or from any other sport in the world. I've been trying to rack my brain and can't think of anything in the present day that's like the farce that is the Leinster championship.

True, fair play to them...
But Kerry winning 81 of the last 100+ might be a bit more realistic as to how competitive it is.

The Leinster hurling championship before Galway entered it in recent years. Kilkenny have won 71 titles to date followed by Dublin and Wexford respectively with 24 and 21. I suppose the main difference is that Galway, Dublin and Wexford have won titles recently since Kilkenny dominance has waned.

All fair enough comparisons but I'm talking about the present time. Like tell me what other team in any of them county championships not only can't be beaten but are winning finals by 20 plus points

The all Ireland. Football is just as weak in the other provinces as it is in Leinster.

I won't watch a minute of it but I will watch out for deluded Dublin fans trying to kid themselves into thinking there is any sporting merit in this nonsense.

I see Dublin are 1/25 to win Leinster with PP. dead cert but unbackable odds.

While Kilkenny's overall dominance of the Leinster Hurling Championship is not in doubt, they have never dominated it like Dublin are doing now in football's equivalent. Dublin are going for their 11th title in a row this year; whereas the best Kilkenny have ever done is 7 in a row, and that was once (2005 to 2011).

The Bundesliga. Bayern Munich are about to win their 30th title and complete 9 in a row, which will put them 25 ahead of 2nd place Dortmund on the roll of honour. They've won more titles than the rest of Germany combined.

Its a dead duck but hopefully the newly announced Strategic Plan will make a difference.

Quit whinging and start training. Kildare is a huge county population wise. It should be in the reckoning. Why don't you start training and think positively. And you will give the mighty Dubs a match then. Cill dara abú
