Cynical fouls preventing goals. Hopefully the new measure will tackle it. Apart from that it's still a great game to watch. I've followed soccer since I was 4 and I went to see my 1st live match at Loftus Road. Dad was a QPR fan. When I was a teenager and started going to games by myself I started following Millwall who were a division 4 team at that time as they were nearer to where we lived at the time. I played rugby for 14 years. I am a general sports fan not a fan of any 1 sport in particular.

Are you talking about the GAA as in the organization ?

Feigning injury. Trying to get players booked or even moving the ball forward without permission are all forms of cheating."
So are you really trying to say that he honestly believed he scored a legitimate goal ! :-).

In your post replying to Brian from Meath you state that "there is no unity my friend. The GAA has contributed to Irish people detesting eachother". While the GAA is not perfect, maybe less so years ago when in many parishes there was a perceived class difference between lads selected to play "based on how many acres their families farmed" and those from the villages and cottages who weren't selected to play, I dont see how you can blame the organisation for Irish people hating eachother!

What was the outcome of the case ? Were the alleged perpetrators brought to justice? If the answer is no, then there's no merit in what you are saying, it's pure Gaa head anti-foreign sports propaganda. You conveniently forget that it's not that long ago the GAA were the most bigoted organisation in the country."
Your argument is based on the assumption that I'm lying, which I'm not. Can i prove it happened here, on a GAA forum? Of course I can't, even you would understand that. I suppose soccer hooliganism is an unproven figment of my imagination too yeah? And there's no bigotry or racism in soccer either I guess?

Once I saw you resorting to name calling I knew I had won. It's true that there are more people assaulted on a Gaa pitch than in the stands, i'll agree with you about that.

Ah yeah, "I knew I had won" because the other lad called me names. , would u stop with the self righteousness, you're about as nasty as they come on here, and to top it all off you're an imbecile.
Can't even formulate a halfway coherent response to my argument on soccer hooliganism/racism so you resort to a snide infantile little jibe about GAA physicality.

No I did nt say that. It was a foul. Too many steps is a foul. A double hop is a foul but I would nt say its cheating.

Remind me. When was the last time a person was banned from playing soccer in England because of their race or religion?

Viking, I'm not doubting your word, but Millwall last played in Division 4 in 1965. Were you following them before then?

James McClean was the victim of plenty of racist abuse and anti-Irish comments for the past 5 years while plenty of Irish players been called fenian b#$@%$#ds on and off the pitch over the years. CelticRangers is a symbol of hatred unrivalled in ANY sport. For the past 12 months any black player who has a bad game or costs his team a good result has suffered online abuse. Even the current Irish soccer manager had to rake up anti-English feelings in a pre match pep talk to get his team hyped up Soccer would want to clean up it's own house before looking at the GAA.

No we finished just above the relegation zone in division 3 the season before I started going to the matches in the early 80s. We only stayed up the last week of the season. We were a 4th division side who only stayed in the 3rd division because of the cold blow lane effect. We won 14 games that season 12 of them at home! And George Graham. Happy days eating pies! Are you living around New Cross?

I have no doubt in my mind that there are any number of players in England who have historically been forced out of the game,or not been given a proper chance because of their ethnicity, or have left the game of their own free will as they didn't want to put up with abuse any longer.
Read Andy Woodwards book, Position of trust, and tel me that English football, or soccer in general is in a position to lecture the gaa.
It seems like you're trying to get me to argue that the gaa is perfect, which obviously (although apparently not to you and Africangael) I'm not.

Why so few Indian and Pakistan players on these so called equal opportunities English teams? Rather go for the English hooligan stereotype.
