Do the not head the ball- perhaps 'headball' would be a better name for that game. You obviously have a very liberal definition of beautiful which is vastly different than mine!. By the way there are different ways to use your 'head' to earn lots of money even in sport.

Ah now you're fairly clutching at the straws there. The whole world knows what the beautiful game is. There's a lot of kids in Ireland pressured by old fogeys to play GAA rather than soccer, that's a sad indictment. Thank god Messi or Ronaldo weren't born in Ireland. Grow up would you. You're the one posting on a GAA forum. If soccer is so beautiful and seemingly so vastly superior to GAA, why are you even here? brian (Meath) - Posts: 1954 - 23/03/2021 12:20:07 2334808 Link 6 |
Because I love all sport, not programmed to be anti "foreign sports" or insular. Luckily I had the IQ not to fall into that trap.

In that case wonder how hurling got its name? Or cricket?? or Tennis. Sure hurling should be called whackball, cricket throw and whackball and tennis hit ball over and back with a racquet while grunting loudly ball

Talking about houses in order. It's time RTÉ got their house in order, taking Joe Brolly of air but let DUP snigger and laugh at all things Irish. Shame on them for sucking up to DUP and their out of date mandates. Saynothing (Tyrone) - Posts: 2014 - 23/03/2021 12:43:51 2334813 Link 5 |
Good to see you back out of hiding after the fool you made of yourself a few days ago, nobody takes you seriously. Some man preaching to others ! :-)

You are the one who refused to answer any questions when you were called out for being a silly billy. So some would claim you have been found out and do not like it. As a previous poster if the other game is so beautiful why are you even here? Go and follow one of the many soccer clubs there in the UK.

The best way for to show up the dup is let them keep talking. The best way to show up rte is not to watch it. leitrimguy1985 (Leitrim) - Posts: 57 - 23/03/2021 13:19:05 2334823 Link 2 |

And I suppose no one on earth is pressured into playing soccer no? Wasn't long ago you'd nearly get a slagging in certain schools in Galway, and probably other cities here too, for playing hurling, thankfully that's changing. I grew up in Galways East side, avd like most other kids there it was like English football was the only sport in earth. I started following the gaa in 98 when the great galway team came along and haven't looked back since. P. S. I hope Joe brolly didn't hurt your feelings too much last night. Joe Brolly ? Never heard of him. Well perhaps you just didn't have the skills needed for soccer, no shame in that. Anyone can be taught how to play gaelic, all depends how dedicated or obsessed they are after that. Don't ever be afraid to look back.

Every sport has their own skill set. However some appreciate different skills. To take a free 14 yards from goal in soccer and blast it wide is not skilful yet the supporters will give you a round of applause for effort.

I'd hate to think every shot on a small corner of the goal would end in a score , any player would score from that distance in Gaelic football . That's what makes it easy. But too easy IMO.
