Replying To CTGAA10:  "I'm wishing all involved the best of luck Sunday..I am very wary of cork and I can,t really explain it..maybe it's from reading about how young and fast they are,and how good they are at taking goal chances..I hope the fact that all our fellas have 2 finals played will be of huge benefit..cork have only 2 starters who played in 2013..a final is a complete different day to any other and the fact that 40 thousand will be there will bring huge noise to croke park..I hope this will unsettle the cork boys in a major way..I to will gladly take a one point win and keep cork down for another while..they have got very loud in last few weeks..cmon limerick!!!!"
A note of caution. Not a single starting player of the LK team in '18 had started a final and most of the Galway team, played in the '17 one , a substantial played in two finals in '15 and a few had played also in '12, yet Galway looked all over the place and Limerick seemed to settle down very early.

Replying To Mads:  "Before the naming of the teams later on in the week I'm going to have a gripe regarding the tickets for the AI final.
Firstly whoever does manage to get their hands on a golden ticket fair play because it is not easy at all. Hope there will be plenty Limerick cheers to be heard on Sunday regardless of whether I'm there or not.
My biggest issue is this year of all years to see AI tickets from other counties put up for competitions is absolutely SOUL DESTROYING. If they were afraid of COVID at all they shouldn't be sent to every county up and down the country. Half capacity of course they should have gone to the 2 counties involved. Other county boards using them to get money is particularly heartbreaking especially in these times."
I would have to strongly agree with this comment. I know that many clubs, charities etc are able to use these tickets as an opportunity for fundraising, but you'd have to question the ethics of this when the desperation of fans looking for tickets is being exploited. There are also many private companies with access to tickets who are using draws as advertising opportunities.

I know people who have entered multiple draws at 10 or 20 euro a pop....there is very little transparency with some of these, you've no idea how many tickets are being sold and if you are up against 100, 1000 or 5,000 people.

I'm saying this as someone who was very lucky to have gotten tickets through one of these avenues yesterday, albeit at a significant cost.

No major shock with team selections. Kingston starts. That's a very strong in form Cork full forward line. Our full backline will have to be in top top form. This is the game which will decide all stars in these positions. So many are 50/50 at the moment.
If Dan keeps Horgan relatively quiet he's a shoe in a number 3. Nash will have to play the game if his life against Kingston. I just hope that injury from last day is properly cleared up. We take Seán Finn for granted. By his lofty standards it hasn't been at his best so far this year but let's see what Jack O'Connor will have scored after full time.

Up the other end. Gillane is often marked by the best back in the opposing side.. O'Donoghue has been excellent for Cork this year but Gillane has had very good days against him ahead of the Munster semi final this year if memory serves me right. Dropping Gillane brought the desired reaction hopefully he might get the better of O'Donoghue tomorrow. I'm hopeful Tom Morrissey will want to right the wrongs of that day too. Fingers crossed Gearóid will find top form tomorrow.
As for the midfielders. No need to be flashy but get the hard unselfish work done as always and hopefully we'll be on our way.

Best of luck tomorrow lads.

Anyone fear diarmuid Byrne's getting a bit of a roasting early on due to speed of cork forwards.

On the eve of the All Ireland, I have a few predictions and thoughts.

(1). I expect Limerick to play their best game of the year in the final. They have trained and geared themselves to maximize performance in the All Ireland series from the very start of the campaign. They have a magnificent support staff and have the experience of how to handle All Ireland final day.
(2). My hunch is that the Man of the Match will be Gearoid Hegarty. He's flashed in all the games without taking over any in the way that only he can. If he runs at the Cork backline, the only way that they can stop him is to rugby tackle him.
(3). I believe that we will win by more than the previous margin of 8 points in the Munster championship. I give Cork a punchers chance because they could get a referee's decision in their favor and because they can get goals. Nothing is certain and they play the games for a reason but I look at the composition of the two teams and can discern only one winner.

Some other comments:

Gillane should play as an out and out full forward and at the point of the spear. If Cork want to match him up with O'Donoghue, make him play full back because he's not that tall and Limerick can hit direct ball down on him.
Discipline is crucial. Be ferocious but careful about use of the hurley. Cork will go to ground every chance that they get.
I think Horgan will allow the game to flow. That's his style and it doesn't suit Cork. Just don't give him any big decisions to make which is repeating the earlier point about care with hurleys.
Push up all the way on the Cork puck out in segments of the game. They don't need to do it for the entire game but maximize the pressure on the Cork goalie.
Exploit Eoin Cadogan. The loss of Mellerick is very significant and significantly weakens their half back line. Try and get Gearoid Hegarty running at their backs and let chaos unfold.

One more sleep and please God - Limerick will still be the All Ireland champions and I can dream on.

After seeing the teams, I've become more confident. While Cork have a lot of quality, I feel like they have a couple of passengers that our team doesn't. We won't make a hero out of Downey like kk did letting him catch ball on the edge of the square all day. Flanagan will take him on a tour of Croker and get motm!

I got some photos of around 10 Limerick fans outside Drumcondrah station what a great bunch of lads with supporters like these teams like Limerick will always win. Thanks to them for making my year and thanks for them for posing for the photos.

Spot on. Flanagan dragged him all over the pitch. Immense performance out of limerick today. Privileged to be there.
