Looks like you backed the wrong horse with your name as well. I'd give up the day job as a tipster if I was you :)

Cormac Costello has been given the go ahead to play in the semi. Anyone any idea why he got the red in the first place? And why has it been rescinded?

He was reported for abusing a linesman but don't know full story

He allegedly used abusive language to the linesman. In normal circumstances it wouldn't have been heard with crowds etc but the linesman heard him and informed the ref. Not sure of the grounds on which card was rescinded.

Because he plays for Dublin. We all need to aspire to try as these guys and maybe we can all get the same treatment when we deserve to be sent off.

Dublin will play with Cavan like a cat plays with a mouse before it kills it , then tell us all the mouse put up a great fight blah blah blah. Dubs to win by a margin of their choosing . Odds of 1/100 , and people really want to know who'll win ? Lol

I heard he was red carded for not sporting a moustache like Seanie Buglers.

Got earlier tickings for lack of a Davey Byrne and Macker top knot.

Costello's word was obviously believed over that of the linesman (given no additional microphone or camera evidence was available).

Replying To CiarraiMick:  "I agree Dublin and Cavan would be a sell out but although Mayo are the best supporters in the country Tipp are mainly into hurling. In 2016 Tipp and Mayo semi had about 53 000 at it and don't forget there was a minor game beforehand. Because of covid we are all mad for canes but money a big factor too. As you mentioned about Galway Mesamis I was at that game and was actually talking to a Galway couple at it with two kids. They were saying they could nt afford to go to every game between petrol feeding the kids etc. It cost them 200e to go to the game without buying a pint. Seldom is wonderful but for dual counties its very hard on supporters."
Exactly. Although there was a lot more more than 4/5 K Galway fans at that. That figure is pure guess work. The official attendance was 54k it was on a Saturday mid afternoon and the hurling final was the following Sunday week. Galway's support was rising through that campaign but the Monaghan loss knocked that back. With the hurlers having the hearts and minds of the swing fans the footballers had their core. Mind you I was at Dublin Donegal in 2011 and there were a lot more Dubs at that match than the semi final against us in 2018. For one code counties much easier to generate the marginal support than for dual counties.

Terrible decision to overturn CC red card.
Undermines the officials & makes the linesman appear to be incompetent or that the officials story wasn't accepted.
Sends out a message to children watching the game or looking up to the Inter County stars, that it's ok to allegedly abuse officials & that you will get the punishment rescinded.
No surprise though when you have Dublin John steering the ship, in fact when you consider that the head of the GPA, GAA are Dubs & the DG a Dublin club man, is it any surprise.
Most games at home in Croke Park (footballers play there more than in Parnell Park), same warm up end, same dressing room (alphabetical thing is bullsh#t) allowed dominate Hill 16 for big games, sponsorship levels from the biggest corporate set ups mostly based in Dublin that no other county have a hope of achieving, stratospheric funding from Central funds, Govt & Leinster Council & even in a pandemic where no fans are allowed, Leinster counties can't even get a home game.
Cavan dismissed by Alan Brogan for daring to ask about playing the Dubs outside Croke Park, Alan Brogan must think he is running the GAA now after getting the gig at Croke Park. Cavan &Dublin could have being played in a neutral venue. Mickey Graham is a great manager but his team are up against a great team but have also to deal with all the other advantages which makes their task impossible. Let other counties & their towns that are struggling financially get a financial pay day from having games hosted in those towns hat are on their knees.
It's a joke, I blame the other counties & their Congress delegates for not having the balls to tackle this (bar the Donegal Chairman), they are all too worried about getting crumbs from the top table or advancing their own advancement within the GAA, than calling it out for what it is.
Dublin footballers are the greatest team in GAA history & play lovely football & are a joy to watch, nothing should detract from the fact that they are a great team but it should not be ignored that they have a number of advantages that others will never be able to access, making it even harder for others to close the gap.
Level the playing field !

Of course it's very hard to go to all the games especially if you are a dual county and travelling with family as well Although Mayo not a dual county persais their supporters are the best to attend games. Even Dublin who are massive supporters too but if you look at last year's super 8 game v Cork there were only about 30 000 in CP and that includes neutrals and Cork fans. Now even if all the crowd were from Dublin that would be the equivalent of Mayo having a couple of hundred fans at the game population wise. That's why you have to give Mayo fans great credit. Now in fairness to dubs that was a game they knew they were going to win so alot did nt bother going. Going to games is very expensive now for a family and as I say for dual counties very hard. Also the gaa don't appreciate people that have to travel long distances. Last year's football replay was fixed for late on a sat eve. Now I have friends that were fuming cos they would have to stay in dub or else it would be 2 3 or 4 am by the time some were home. That gaa don't care. I live in Dublin so it did nt bother me but for fans in Waterville that's a 12 hour round journey. When you travelling alone its fine and a bit of fun but an ordeal with a family but when we love our games we do put ourselves through hardship. On the fans they make the games sometimes. I've been lucky enough to be there for Clare 95 Armagh Derry Tyrone winning their first titles and there for so many dubs matches. Great buzz.

Have to say that's a fair enough post. CC shouldn't have that and rescinding the card undermines the authority of our officials . Not sure it's a direct result of pressure by specific individuals.
