After Galway playing so well against Wexford I'd expect a dip in form. Kilkenny will always play to a certain standard and that should be enough to get them over Galway. Galway for me in this one. KK will try and make it hard for them but can't see this Galway team being beaten until poss AI final. At Ht against Dub I thought KK are looking like a serious team this yr but they couldn't lay a glove on Dub in the 2nd half. Their def were taken to the cleaners by the dubs. You can argue KK thought the game was over but i see a similar trend in matches last yr.they seem to lose concentration when ahead and seemingly playing well. This will haunt them. I really like the look of this Galway team, there's obvious hunger there and bundles of talent . They really blew it last yr collectively as a team. In my view, I see them as a team fighting the wrongs of last yr. KK is a great team for them to play right now. A stern test but ultimately they should come out on top. Galway by 6/7pts at least. Looking forward to this final ! Unusual day and time and the absence of a crowd makes it a little surreal. Hard one to call but Gakway looked very good v Wexford while Kilkenny were excellent in the first half v the Dubs but were poor in the second. I wonder if Kilkenny's difficulties against Dublin are down to strength and conditioning? They gave up a good lead against Limerick last year as well and just about won it in the end. If the deciding factor on Saturday is physicality then I'm going for a Galway win. Also, this Galways side doesn't have as big a reliance on Joe Canning as Kilkenny do TJ. It's great to see a KK v Galway discussion and nice to see our limerick friends offering their opinion, it's a pity there is not a limerick v Waterford tread on the go . I think Galways overall strength in depth will insure that Galway will have a line from the middle up that will run at KK and do damage , if I am right Expect a Goal from Whelo . Galway over the last number of years havent been ruthless and like Cork take the easy option of the point far too often. That may have changed under new management though. They simply have to start playing to Conor Whelan's strengths. He will destroy Lawlor with decent ball in. It'll be interesting to see what Concannon does the next day. He's a player that I dont think likes the rough and tumble and is more than capable of lashing out if it gets physical so it'll be interesting to see if o'Neill has got that out of his game. The Wexford match showed me nothing while KK's win over Dublin was a bit strange and hard to analyze. I expect a very physical affair and I'm fairly sure they'll clamp down on Whelan and allow Galway to shoot from distance all day. If Galway are accurate they'll win, if not... Deegan would do a good job in 5 of the 6 back positions so I'd be shocked if he was dropped if he isn't injured. I don't think its the strongest looking KK subs bench if I'm being honest. Question marks over all of them at that level - including Richie as we don't know how fit he is. Will be interested to see how Tommy Walsh does, I think he's a decent player from the little bit I seen of him. They need big games from the 3 in the half backline who for me, are all not playing their best but are serious players when they are.
