Croke Park I can eventually see it being sold to Dublin City Council for use as a municipal stadium boxtyburgerbuns (Leitrim) - Posts: 85 - 19/01/2025 14:50:33 2586357 Link 0 |
In the meantime, will Leitrim GAA have the opportunity to play there as they have in the past?

Better to have it lie idle for the pigeons I guess....

If it came between a clash with a Leinster rugby game and a low tier GAA comp Leitrim might be involved in who do you think Croke Park would prefer?

Better to have it promote our national sports than a rival one

Why are you so afraid of other sports? You'd sware the GAA was providing their facilities for free.

Afraid of other sports? What are you on about? I'm not a fan of rugby and I don't think the GAA should be promoting a rival sport by allowing it access to some of its grounds. boxtyburgerbuns (Leitrim) - Posts: 85 - 19/01/2025 17:12:40 2586386 Link 1 |
Any true GAA fan couldn't care less about Croke Park. It's for the once-a-year brigade points50swiththeargyllsonthewrongfeet (Tyrone) - Posts: 285 - 19/01/2025 17:21:04 2586390 Link 0 |
Well that is an unusual take. But okay

Leinster have the demand to sell out Croke Park, the demand is there. The GAA rents out Croke Park to facilitate demand, win win for all. So as I've said, why are you so afraid of other sports? It's only a business arrangement, the GAA won't fold because the stadium is rented out.

Some people are fairly insecure about it... thank God we don't pay much heed to them as we'd be still sloshing round in muck if we did.

Rugby or Gaelic football… no real difference.. they both continuously pass the ball backwards

Sure why not sell the ground to Leinster rugby then and rent it off them?

Some people are fairly insecure about not everyone agreeing with them

Says the person getting your knickers in a twist about a business arrangement with Leinster Rugby. Grow up.

Hopefully it will extend to three games, if all goes well for Leinster. Pity Ireland do not have this option, contracted to Aviva for another 5/6 years. Do you really think the GAA will act like fool's and turn down good money?

Teams never had to move for quarters and they got rid of rule about moving for semis a while back. Aviva isn't available for some reason I believe KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 3701 - 19/01/2025 19:32:11 2586417 Link 0 |
You're the very insecure one based on posts in this thread

If you're lucky ;-)

They have penalties which is turning down replay money. The problem is leinster is not a gaa province anymore so croke park has been taken over by rugby fans. Meath don't have hurling or football so most probably sit at home watching rugby as they don't have any teams to follow outside some ladies games
