Good win for Shannon Gaels this evening should be a good shootout between themselves and dominics to see who tops the group.

Shoot-out maybe but I still think Dominic's could win by 7/8 pts. They won comfortably last year in the Quarter-Finals. Shannon Gaels are decent for Intermediate level but seriously St. Barry's are very poor and along with Ballinameen, Kilbride and Aidans they are Junior teams in reality. St. Ronan's and St. Michael's have both been relegated in recent seasons and are struggling to return. St. Barry's will be danger of falling into this category if they get relegated.

The reality is there 2 tiers in the Intermediate Championship and they are a number of teams they would not look out of place in the Junior Championship. Faithleachs, Kilmore, Eire Og, Oran, Creggs and Dominic's are a mile ahead of the rest. Castlerea on paper have a good young talented team and they will come right but for whatever reason, they aren't clicking. You could easily make the it an 8 team Championship.

Barrys are badly hit with injuries to key and experienced players at the moment. As expected Ballinameen are finding the step up to intermediate a tough task but should end up having a do or die match v Barrys.

Kilbride aren't junior level if they were they wouldn't have given the intermediate favourites Faithleachs such a good game last week. Castlereas problem is a lack of quality players aged 26 to 30s and it looks like they'll have to stick around at that level until their younger players develop as experienced campaigners.

is Collins playing for Castlerea? They used to have a Bernard Carty and a Sweeney lad who played county underage who would be in that age bracket what ever happened to them?

Collins hasn't played in their 2 games. I think Sweeney is in the UK not sure about former County minor Cathy last i heard he was in a munster college maybe living there now?

Hopefully the club chsps can be played out this year. Promising that there are no cases in Roscommon in recent times. Prospects of inter county look bleak unfortunately at the moment, with national cases rising. Well done to all clubs, county officials, players, club volunteers, referees etc who are adhering to protocols and allowing the club scene to continue unscathed at the moment in Roscommon.

I'd love to be proven wrong but the re-start to the inter County season in October looks like a dead duck right now. TBH we'll be doing well to finish the club season the likes of Tulsk, Strokestown, Barrys, Castlerea won't mind if it's called off.

We got our first case today in 5 weeks i suppose it was only a matter of time but it's been good going to contain the virus like we did in this county.

Final round of group fixtures in Senior and Intermediate this weekend, 2nd round of fixtures in Junior.

Senior:
Group A:
Saturday 7:00
Brigids vs Elphin - Kiltoom
Clann vs Strokestown - Johnstown

Brigids 3
Clann 3
Elphin 2
Strokestown 0

Strokestown already confirmed to finish bottom. Could come down to scoring difference to see who tops group, Brigids currently +1 ahead of Clann. Wins for both Clann and Brigids for me.

Group B:
Sunday 2:00
Fuerty vs Ros Gaels - Fuerty
Western Gaels vs Croans - Frenchpark

W Gaels 4
R Gaels 2
Croans 2
Fuerty 0

Would expect wins for both Roscommon and Western Gaels to see them go through, Croans in the playoff and Fuerty finishing bottom.

Group C:
Saturday 5:00
Boyle vs Glaveys - Abbey Park
Tulsk vs Pearses - Tulsk

Pearses 3
Boyle 3
Glaveys 2
Tulsk 0

As in Group A, topping the group could come down to scoring difference with Pearses 2 ahead of Boyle at the moment. Although a surprise win for Glaveys would see them through. Boyle and Pearses to win.

Intermediate:
Group A:
Sunday 3:00
Kilmore vs Castlerea - Kilmore
Oran vs Eire Og - Rockfield

Oran 4
Kilmore 2
Eire Og 2
Castlerea 0

A win for Kilmore at home to Castlerea should be enough to see them through as they have the head to head record on Eire Og. Wins for Kilmore and Oran.

Group B:
Saturday 5:00
Faithleachs vs Creggs - Ballyleague
Aidans vs Kilbride - Ballyforan

Faithleachs 4
Creggs 4
Kilbride 0
Aidans 0

Two direct shootouts here to see who tops the table and to see who finishes bottom. Faithleachs and Kilbride to win.

Group C:
Sunday 4:00
Barry's vs Ballinameen - Tarmonbarry
Dominics vs Shannon Gaels - Knockcroghery

Dominics 4
S Gaels 4
Ballinameen 0
Barry's 0

Same as Group B. Wins for Dominics and Ballinameen.

Junior:
Group A:
Domincs B vs Ros Gaels B - Kiltoom - Friday 8:00
Castlerea B vs St Josephs - O'Rourke Park - Saturday 5:00

Ros Gaels and St Josephs to win.

Group B:
Boyle B vs Michaels - Orchard Park - Sunday 1:00
Ronans vs Brigids B - Tulsk - Sunday 2:00

Wins for Michaels and Brigids

Group C:
Pearses B vs Kilglass - TBC - Sunday 2:00
Clann B vs Elphin B - Kilteevan - Sunday 4:00

Clann and Kilglass to win.

I hope club is finished and agree cant see any county been played. That said I am surprised to see the Stokestown game is still going ahead this weekend when a Club member has tested positive.

It was inevitable it would happen. I'm not so sure we have done that well containing it, as of today over 500 confirmed cases in the county, way more than some of our neighbours.

I agree inter county looks finished.

where are you getting "over 500 confirmed cases in the county" ? official numbers still has Roscommon under 350 confirmed cases. our numbers are below average for the population of the county and also take out the two clusters in the nursing home and Kepak and our numbers would be very low.

You should change your name to whatdidyouread

Roscommons case numbers 348 and we had gone 35 days without a confirmed case. Clare, Kerry and Sligo 30 days is the next longest run without a case. As stated already the we would have much less but for clusters in care homes and factories in April.

Anyone know if ros Gael's will have Hughes and McManus available this weekend.? I know both received straight reds but not sure about an appeal

Tarismelting22, Hughes apparently got his red turned into a yellow on appeal. McManus remains suspended.

Only Boyle v Glaveys the county board are showing no word yet on which clubs will be streaming games themselves.

Analyser are clubs allowed to stream games even if co board is streaming them?? Or is there any rule on that?! Surely clubs could be allowed to generate revenue that way. Be sickening for a club to have the facility to do this but not be allowed coz co board are doing it.

They can so long as games don't clash with the live county board streamed games. It's Facebook live clubs mostly stream games on and no revenue in that. I think Clann stream games for its own club members on YouTube.

Is it not poor form from co board to not allow them to stream their own games if they clash with theirs? Why can't they?? Is it because co board want the revenue? Plus is there any sanction if they do it?! Doubtful if there is as this is a new venture in many respects so I'm sure the legislation/rules couldn't be there yet!!
