Replying To MatchPredictions: "Whats the NAP of the weekend folks? All comments appreciated for a GAA accum" Pearses, Croans, Strokestown, Oran, St Faithleachs, St Dominics should be weekend bankers. There will probably be a draw somewhere..that's the nature of these things.. maybe a draw between clan and brigids or ros gaels v westie gaels. And then there maybe an odd surprise result..could be Eire og with their new acquisition or a newly promoted Tulsk.

Replying To sourmilk93: "Still not an ideal way plenty of players parents have little interest going to games I have seen this down the years where they would only attend finals, Each to there own. Why should a parent of a player who normally wouldn't go to a game get a ticket before the great club man who fundraises and sells loads of lotto tickets on a weekly basis which keep the club going. Hopefully the amount allowed to attend games is raised this week as the current numbers permitted is a joke." Can I reply to you on this comment "Why should a parent of a player who normally wouldn't go to a game get a ticket before the great club man who fundraises and sells loads of lotto tickets on a weekly basis which keep the club going". Of course this is a given but why should a parent of a player who goes to every game not get a ticket to watch their son play. Totally wrong if clubs do not look after those parents ahead of other club members.

I do understand your point and agree parents of players who attend most games should definitely be looked after. I don't agree with limiting games too 200 it's really madness imo.

Clubs have been given the go ahead to stream their games on facebook this weekend so long as they don't clash with Saturday game Clann v Brigids tomorrow at 7pm and Boyle and Pearses at 2pm on Sunday.

Great start to the county board streaming service with a cracker of contest in Hyde Park this evening. Clann looked dead and buried when 10 points after 20 minutes but they have roaring back with Ciaran Lennon in top clash form and Cathal Shine rolled back the years with a superb equaliser.
Brigids will be disappointed at the manner they let that win slip through their fingers however the likes of Eddie Nolan, Ciaran Sugrue and Brian Stack performed very well for them.
Elsewhere good wins for Faithleachs, Croans, Dominics, Glaveys, Creggs, Elphin and Western Gaels.

While saying that after 20 odd minutes I didn't think so. Brigids started better than they could have dreamt racing into a deserved 11 point lead clann were hopeless early on and the scoreboard was how it should have been. Matter stages first half clann kicked 5 points in a row which were badly needed. Second half was a totally different story with clann the better team Ciaran and Fergal Lennon were probably the two best players on the pitch throughout and kept clann in it and went a long way towards them eventually drawing which was some turnaround. Sugrue McGrath and no.11 cant think of his name were good for Brigids I taught but ran out of steam. Brigids will be the more disappoint side tonight to bottle a lead like they had but a very young side witg plenty of potential. Clann look no different than other years very inconsistent as i saw even in the one game today. They could lose to anyone or beat anyone depending on what form they are in. Play like they did in first quarter they will be lucky to stay up, play like they did in patches for rest of the game they could win it out especially if dara petit Jack connaughton Steven flynn and Ultan Harney get back fit. Elsewhere good wins for western gaels and especially Elphin who were both underdog I would say. Glaveys won as i expected a side who have plenty of talent and are improving. Did i hear correctly is Darren Dolan playing with st Dominics? Hard handle young fella I would say but has plenty of talent and more than that which cant be taught cuteness to win games. Be a good addition if it is true and they had a good but expected win today.

A very enjoyable game between Clann and Brigids. Brigids started at a terrific pace and swept into what looked like an unassailable lead but to be fair Clann did not panic and had ticked on 5 points into the breeze by half time. The two Lennons for Clann were outstanding well supported by Callinan and Kenny but they had a lot of players who did not perform. Brigids were well served by Sugrue, Stack and McGrath but the players that most impressed were Carroll who came on and young Fallon in midfield. I think of the two teams this game Clann will be feeling the better but both teams have improvements to make to win this year.

Pearses agurably topped Clanns comeback this afternoon by coming back from 12 points down. They were aided by the Enda Smith sending off and Hanmore black plus a give away goal in injury time.
Oran and Éire Óg with comfortable wins. 1-6 for Conor Cox on his Roscommon club championship debut. Important win for Shannon Gaels this evening.
Be nice if at least 500 are allowed into next weekends games but it looks like we'll have to wait until August 10th.

Another exciting week ahead lads. Couple of lads on here tipped great winner last week. Long may it continue, One genius even predicted a draw. What do we think for the week coming?
Will Pearses carry momentum into this week and their great second half against Boyle?
Strokestown need a win or are in big bother, as do Brigids who threw away a big win against Clann.
Whats our predictions this week and what is the NAP of the weekend?

Boyle played 10 mins of the second half with 13 men and were actually down to twelve for a period of that time too. Plus it was a lucky goal to get them a draw in th 7th min of injury time.

Senior Group A: Strokestown vs Brigids - Friday 8:00 - Strokestown Defeat to Elphin was a big setback for Strokestown. The draw with Clann, felt like a defeat for Brigids and their body language at full-time very much suggested that. Brigids struggled in the Group phase last night and maybe the same could happen this year. Verdict: Draw
Elphin vs Clann - Saturday 7:00 - Orchard Park Massive win for Elphin last week. As they showed last year beating Brigids, there a big result in them. They never kicked on from that result and that is surely something they will be look at to change this year. Clann can't afford to start so poorly again. Again like last year, you don't know what your going to get with them. I still believe they have the most talented panel in the county. Verdict: Clann
Group B: St Croans vs Roscommon Gaels - Saturday 7:00 - Kiltoom Pressure is off Croans now after last week win (unless of course Fuerty pull of a few upsets). Senior status now 90% secured and they be looking at it with 3 chances to make the 1/4 Finals. No more room for errors for Ros Gaels after last week. A wide pitch like Kiltoom will suit them more then Croans. If this game was fixed for somewhere like Oran (a proper neutral venue given the location of both sides), I would give Croans a better chance as it is a tighter pitch. Verdict: Ros Gaels
Western Gaels vs Fuerty - Sunday 1:00 - Hyde Park How often have we seen Western Gaels start strong but fail to deliver when it matters. Last week and 2017 spring to mind. We won't probably know until the 1/4 Finals if they changed this year. Fuerty now stearing a relegation battle in the face unless they pull off a few upsets. If they everybody available, they would have a good chance but can't see anything then a Western Gaels win Verdict: Western Gaels
Group C: Boyle vs Tulsk - Saturday 4:00 - Strokestown For 3/4 of the game vs Pearses, Boyle did very little wrong. The way they collapsed has to be worrying. Surely a team with their quality, shouldn't be that heavily dependent on Enda Smith (They did only have 12 players on the field at one stage? If so, then I take back some of criticism). Tulsk completed well for 45 minutes for Glaveys but don't have the forwards for this level. Verdict: Boyle
Glaveys vs Pearses - Sunday 5:00 - Hyde Park Pearses got out of jail last week. A lot of improvement needed. Another similar performance and they will be playing Tulsk to avoid the relegation play-offs. There is a big result in Glaveys. They have the forwards and will kick on from last year showing. Could we see an upset? It is very possible but I am expecting a response from the champions. Verdict: Pearses
Intermediate Group A: Eire Og vs Kilmore - Saturday 5:00 - James Timothy Park Eire Og played lovely Football last week but it does have to be said it was far too easy. The jury still out on how good they are. Liam Creation will be big lose inside. Will they move Conor Cox inside? He looked at ideal at no.11 pulling the strings. Kilmore never threw in the towel last week and battled back well in the 2nd half. They have 3 suspended players returning. Kilmore never make it easy for anybody and we will have a better idea if Eire Og are serious contenders. Verdict: Draw
Castlerea vs Oran - Saturday 7:00 - O'Rourke Park Honestly, I can't see anything then a comfortable away win. Things weren't good in the Castlerea before last Sunday and they showed little spirit/fight in the 2nd half. Because of Eire Og hammering of Castlerea, the statue of Oran win went under the radar. They had the game wrapped up at half-time. Verdict: Oran
Group B: Creggs vs Aidans - Saturday 5:00 - Creggs It's not long ago the thoughts of Creggs even playing the likes of Kilbride and Aidan's in Challenge games would not have been even considered. It would have been a hammering for Creggs but now there above these sides. Creggs really have established themselves as a solid Intermediate team. Kilbride and Aidan's will be playing Junior Football before Creggs any time soon. Last week, Creggs beat Kilbride for the 2nd year in a row last week and they will beat Aidan's this week. Verdict: Creggs
Kilbride vs Faithleachs - Saturday 5:00 - Rockfield Easy win for Faithleachs here. Far too much fire power up front. Castlerea and Kilbride are the clubs everybody points towards as having fallen from grace. In Castlerea defense, they have good young players and underage in recent years. The writting was always on the wall for Kilbride. Years of playing Division 3/4 underage is showing. Verdict: Faithleachs
Group C: Ballinameen vs Dominics - Sunday 2:00 - Ballinameen Dominic's put up a cricket score vs Barry's last week and they will do the same again. One concern for Dominic's is they will enter the 1/4 Finals untested. Apart from Faithleach's (provided they top their group), they will face a tough game Verdict: Dominic's
Shannon Gaels vs Barrys - Sunday 2:00 - Croghan Barry's are surely the favorites for relegation after the hammering Dominic's gave them. No positives from that game for them. Last week was just about winning for Shannon Gaels, as is always the case with derby games. They have some nice forwards and should guarantee their 1/4 Final spot. Verdict: Shannon Gaels
Junior (My knockledge is poor but here goes haha) Group A: Josephs vs Western Gaels B - Saturday 4:30 - Tarmonbarry Both lost last year but Western Gaels defeat to Dominic's would have been more damaging. Verdict: Joseph's
Castlerea B vs Roscommon Gaels B - Sunday 2:30 - Strokestown Ros Gaels to build on last weeks win Verdict: Ros Gaels
Group B: Ronans vs Michaels - Sunday 2:00 - Kilronan Park Local derbies always tough to call. Michael's been knocking on the door more for a return to Intermediate in recent years. Verdict: Michael's
Brigids B vs Boyle B - Sunday 3:00 - Kiltoom Winning start for last year beaten Final. Big set up for Boyle on their first game after winning Junior B. Verdict: Boyle
Group C: Pearses B vs Clann B - Friday 8:00 - Woodmount Clann featured more at the business end in recent years Verdict: Clann
Kilglass vs Elphin B - Sunday 2:00 - Kilglass Kilglass will have felt they were unlucky to be relegated last year. They will want to make this a brief visit to Junior. Verdict: Kilglass

The race is on to finish top in each of the 3 divisions. I think the most impressive performance of the weekend for me was Western Gaels. They looked to have another gear in hand against a brave Fuerty team who are now heading for the relegation playoffs. Western Gaels look set to top their group. Clann again struggled to overcome a defiant Elphin team and what I am hearing is that a few of their key players are struggling badly with fitness which is not helping their performances. Saying this they have strength in depth and I fancy them to top the group. Pearses were good in the first half and struggled second half against a Glaveys team without Fitzmaurice. Glaveys had very little to offer up front today. Their best player by a mile was Andrew Glennon, my man of the match. My predictions with one round to play are the top 4 will be Western Gaels, Clann, Brigids and Pearses with St Croans, Ros Gaels, Boyle and Glaveys making up the last 8. Elphin could topple Croans for the last 8. At this stage Western Gaels are the current form team, it will be interesting to see if they do not flatter to deceive this year but with Fergal in charge they have a big chance. The surprise team for me could be Glaveys if the young players get going and get back one or two of their injured players. They will provide a stern test for any of the top 4 teams.

Good win for Brigids but helped along by that foolishly Cathal Compton sending off in the 5th minute. Sugrue, O Carroll fine young talented footballers
Clann earned a good win, no team gets anything easy against Elphin in Orchard Park. Good to see Donie back on form after the poor game he had v Brigids. Good to see Ultan Harney back from injury.
Western Gaels win thanks to a strong finish to their game. Only 0-17 conceded in two games is impressive. Fuerty boosted by the return of Niall Kilroy.
Roscommon Gaels up and running with a win with Gillooly excelling but needlessly lost McManus and Hughes to straight red cards.
Boyle less than convincing in their win v Tulsk, a hangover from letting that win slip through their fingers last week?
Pearses basically had that game won at half time. Majority of their scorers came from play while the opposite for Glaveys.
Big surprises so far in senior is Strokestown going into a relegation play off after reaching the semi finals the last 2 years and Croans who just about stayed up last year could now reach a quarter final.
At intermediate
It's looking like a straight shoot out between Faithleachs, Dominics and Oran. Good win for Kilmore who might fancy their chances now also.
Relegation looks to between Barrys, Ballinameen and Castlerea the latter are in some free fall since Nigel Dineen led them to the knock out stages of the senior championship.
Junior looks like Kilglass Gaels, Clann and Brigids are the main challengers for that title.
