That will lead to chaos I think with people battling for tickets. Better to have the grounds empty at this stage and watch the streams especially with the rise in cases in the county.

Was no "chaos" when games was put behind closed doors and will be none if 500 supporters are attendance this weekend. All of the players parents, wifes, girlfriends etc should then be allowed to attend. Loyal servants to the club won't have to stand on ladders in the graveyard in that situation either. The rest can watch the finals online. As for rising case in this county. 12 in the last 3 weeks is one of the lowest in Ireland and the three main hospitals in Connacht has no confirmed covid patients at the moment. ispeakwisdom (Roscommon) - Posts: 2487 - 14/09/2020 15:37:06 2292065 Link 0 |
Who would the loyal servant who climbed the ladder the last day be supporting though? A gas man the Pearses man living in Westmeath who climbed a ladder the last day to support Brigids. There was a time in the past he was a Clann supporter too. A very generous man that said who is football mad and has been a big contributor to Roscommon and a few clubs in the past

But surely the point is to keep the cases like that? Opening up now when championship is over as such is a real chance to take. We've done so well so for the sake of one game, yes I know it's the finals were we better to keep gates shut so as to ensure no outbreaks and no possible effect on our county teams preparations for championship

I agree families should be allowed in. But youre opening a can of worms, why wouldn't the 90 year old man who has played and supported the team since he was a young fella not be let in too. It's too awkward at this stage.

A few hundred attending outdoor sports in big capacity stadiums was never an issue. Cases nationwide rising since games went behind closed doors proves that. The issue is and remains with indoors settings and the case rise in recent weeks started off with troublesome clusters in crowded and poorly controlled factories.

This forum seems to have become a COVID forum as opposed to football. What will be with the crowds or not will be decided tomorrow. SmokieRoss (Roscommon) - Posts: 282 - 14/09/2020 22:33:54 2292140 Link 1 |
They really broke their hearts to only allow 200 at games. NI has 500 at outdoors sports currently. I hope all family members are catered for in that 200 this Saturday and Sunday. ispeakwisdom (Roscommon) - Posts: 2487 - 15/09/2020 12:43:21 2292217 Link 0 |
€10 is good value in fairness. They could have more. I agree they should have allowed more in and seperate them out in sections?? But I certainly would not look to Northern Ireland for examples of how things should be done...just because they are doing it does not mean it is right, quite the opposite in fact

It's worrying they are allowing people in at all with the number of cases currently happening. I think that wiser heads should have prevailed in the main. whatarewewatching (Roscommon) - Posts: 36 - 15/09/2020 13:29:10 2292235 Link 1 |
Yes cases are rising all the time which is a concern, but we cannot live like this forever either. we need GAA in the county

Anyone hear if they are letting people into the county finals - county board seem very quiet on both tickets and streaming Tarismelting22 (Roscommon) - Posts: 793 - 16/09/2020 14:36:46 2292487 Link 0 |
Yes 200 supporters and that figure doesn't include players, management, officials and media as before. The probably means 100 tickets each for Brigids, Pearses, Dominics, Oran I don't envy the task for their club secretary's. In normal times we would have close to 5,000 at Sundays Southern Derby final with a big neutral interest and around 3,000 at the intermediate final. The streaming service is 10€ to watch both games or 6€ to watch 1 match. ispeakwisdom (Roscommon) - Posts: 2487 - 16/09/2020 15:38:29 2292514 Link 0 |
10 Euro for both is very good value to be fair. Hopefully Kevin Egan is on commentary rather him than Duke.

Yeah can't complain with a tenner for what should be two good games. Agree with you on Kevin Egan, he's been brilliant. Every player is either a great young player, a county player or a great experienced player according to Duke.

There has been no communication from the county board on if they are letting the crowds in or details on the streaming. Hopefully i will be getting one of the golden tickets

And every score is the score of the game.

"And here come the Pearses MEN" "And here come the Brigids MEN" if you had a drink every time he puts the word "men" at the end of his sentences we'd all be asleep by the first water break ross4sam11 (Roscommon) - Posts: 96 - 16/09/2020 19:38:13 2292559 Link 0 |
