Replying To roses: "Same here. Complete joke" No problems for the Western gaels v Clann game. Clann fully deserving winners. Cathal Shine can still fetch high ball at midfield. There's nobody on the county team to match him.Great to see Ultan Harney back in action.Cathal Cregg is still a class player .He played at centre back for Western gaels with some great bursts forward for the losers. Cathal Callinan is an impressive young player for Clann but he had a few misses today.

I agree Clann were deserving winners and they had the better forwards, their two young forwards who were introduced looked very impressive and both scored cracking points. Cathal Shine was my man of the match, had a terrific game. He led them to this victory when they were in big trouble after Western Gaels scored the only goal of the game. It should be a belter next weekend against their neighbours Pearses who will be favourites and rightly so after an impressive win over a poor Gaels team. Clann will need to learn key lessons from this game, they have issues in the fullback line and cant afford to give Darcy and co that amount of space. They also need to tighten up at wing back and stop giving up soft possessions. I thought Ciaran Lennon put in a great shift as did Cathal Callinan but some of the forwards made no contribution at all. Clann definitely have the ability to cause a surprise next weekend. I think Brigids will now really fancy themselves against Boyle missing Donie Smith. They had a very impressive team against a poor Glaveys team and some of their so called stars were totally outplayed by a young Brigids team.

Clann were the better team and deserved the win. Western Gaels like most other years just dont have enough to win at the latter stages. Their decision making can be very questionable at times. Glaveys were shocking bad for the bits I watched, I turned it off to watch the Clann v Western Gaels game so didn't see the whole game but the first half was dire stuff. Excellent second halves for Pearses and Boyle saw them both win comfortable enough in the ends was expected.

Good weekend of football. Looking forward to the semis next weekend. TG4 showing the Pearses Clann game. Watched the Pearses Gaels game and the Clann Western Gaels game, the difference in commentary was absolutely huge, Kevin Egan was very good.

Watched all 4 games on my phone and had no issue however others seems to have issues working off their laptops.
Faithleachs strolled to an easy win without Ciaran Murtagh and took Diarmuid off early, Dominics will give them a much tougher game next week.
Pearses v Roscommon Gaels was a very good first 1st half then Gaels had an awful 2nd half allowing Pearses to win at their ease. The Dalys and Payne very good for the champions.
Brigids basically had Glaveys beaten at half team. Loads of talented young players on that Brigids team if they can keep hold of them all they will be force again in the years ahead. Brian Stack while not old is showing all his experience and providing great leadership.
Clann with a hard earned and well deserved win. Callinan, C Lennon, C Shine and U Harney had fine games. Few of Western Gaels best players didn't perform to the best of their ability or probably weren't allowed.
Looking forward to watching all 4 semi finals next weekend. TG4 will be showing Pearses v Clann semi finals so hopefully the county board will show the senior relegation final between Tulsk and Fuerty.

Keeps it's simple and has a good bit of homework done on players. He made yesterday game even more enjoyable with a brilliant commentary throughout.

Yesterday was problem worldwide with streaming services so they are given a pass there but was no excuse for that awful stream for the Eire Og v Dominics game on Saturday. I have contacted beo sport whom run the service looking for a refund the silence is deafening from them.
Of the 7 games that was watchable the last game Western Gaels v Clann na nGael was the best one. Two good teams going at it and either could have won but Clann came through for a deserved narrow win and they now set up intriguing contest v Pearses and no surprise TG4 has jumped in to cover it. Aidans v Kilmore the 2nd best game I viewed.
It's a shame Boyle won't have a fully fit Donie Smith, it was error by Boyle management to bring him on at all on Saturday. Him not playing will likely swing that semi final in favour of Brigids.
It's still on course for Oran v Faithleachs intermediate final but Dominics will have a lot to say about that.

I think it will be a Pearses v Brigids final. Pearses imo will have a few points to spare v Clan and I think the Kiltoom men will beat Boyle. Pearses seem to be hitting form early disposing the Gaels last weekend. Boyle might not have enough up front to take out the green and red. Oran will account for an Aidans team who probably by their own standards have exceeded expectations. Serious achievement for the Ballyforan men to have navigated a way to the semi final especially after losing their opening two games. I think Dominics might surprise St Faithleachs. They have made steady progress all year and could deal a blow to the Ballyleague outfit. With Ciaran Murtagh injured this may provide the Doms with a great opportunity to make it to a county final. Best of luck to all teams this weekend.

I think Clann will beat Pearses if they can get Donie Shine fit enough to play a part. Donie has been battling his body this year but is always good for a few points and always performed on the big days. Clann missed his scoring power against Western gaels but were still the much better side. Pearses bar the second halves against Boyle and Ros Gaels have been off form this year and Mark Richardson is a big loss. I think the winner of this game will win the final. Glaveys were so poor at the weekend they made Brigids look better than they are at the moment. Glaveys were disgracefully bad. Brigids a young coming team but not the finished article yet. Boyle will trouble all the other three with a full squad but with Donie smith limping off at the weekend he will be a major blow should he miss out.

Pitty about the stream i didnt stream the domnics game as i was watching the oran vs creggs game. Shaping up for the expected final of Faithleachs vs Oran but the doms will have other idea.
Senior Pearses extremely impressive in the second half but i am biased.
Cathal shine was immense for clann so we wont have it easy on sunday.
western gaels again will feel they missed another opportunity.
Boyle made a mistake bringing donie on and that could open the door for brigids to get to a final.
Junior
one game at the weekend St Josephs beat St Dominics by 1 point in kilteevan wasnt expecting that.
Group A is very tight
Roscommon Gaels 6pts Wester Gaels 4pts St Josephs 4pts St Dominics 2pts Castlerea 0 pts
Looks like Josephs will miss out on scoring difference with all there games played and you would expect dominics to beat castlerea by a big score.
Looking forward to the weekend the streams should be good with all games in the hyde

Yes I agree but I suppose Boyle management were seeing how much he was able for and didn't want him too rusty. I thought Aidan's v Kilmore was a very good game between two mediocre teams if I'm honest. I thought both teams were very naive and lacking in a lot of areas. I genuinely felt Kilmore were better than that. Seem to have lost their way completely. They are so far off senior standard but a lot of them have notions of themselves. Caught them cold at weekend anyway. Should be two cracking semi finals at senior level. I'd go for Pearses to make it again and go the whole way! Pity we can't go!

Looking forward to the semifinals.
Clan vs pearses. Last week I would have called this clan hands down. Now am not so sure. Pearses 2nd half display vs rgaels was good. Perhaps they are hitting there best at the right time. It was hard to gauge where rgaels are at but Its fair to say that they are not as strong as last year. Clan beat a western geals team that fancied themselves but came up short again. Clan composure after the goal was key and indicates strong self belief within the group. Am gonna say Clan, it could be a classic.
Boyle vs brigids. Boyle have big issues with consistency. They have talent in the group but they have flattered to deceive at this stage before. They will hope Donal Smith is fit to play and if so that takes them up another notch. Brigids are young, and talented but untested. The only game they had was vs clan where they caught clan cold in the first 15mins and after that they were outplayed and lucky to hold out for a draw.they have had 3 handy games since. I think that they can be got at in defence and midfield. I have a feeling this will be tight and it will come down to leaders on the field and maybe Enda Smith and Sean Purcell might guide Boyle to a win.
Aidans vs Oran. The excitement around the club in ballyforan must be great.they have exceeded all expectations for this year. This will be there biggest challenge. I was impressed by Oran vs Creggs. They weathered what creggs threw at them in the first 25mins and from the 25 to the 45min they clinical put away a good creggs team. Oran will have 5+ point here. St Dominic's vs St Faithleach. Potential for a really good game. The doms are contenders after last weekend's display. They have a lovely blend in the team, they were energetic and ruthless vs eire og. I really gave eire a strong chance in that game and the were blown away. Faithleach are building nicely. They have been in a position of taking lads off early enough in games to keep them fresh. They style of play is very dynamic with powerful runners. If the doms get a positive start anything could happen in this game. I have a lingering doubt about the doms mental strength, how would they respond to a strong start by faithleach. Am gonna say faithleach in a battle(if the doms start) otherwise faithleach could run riot.
Really good and interesting games. Looking forward to seeing them.

County player Mark Richardson is injured, a massive loss and other county players Niall and Conor Daly were midfield the last day. Dont ever remember Shane Carty,Shane Mulvey,Anthony Butler or Gavan Downey playing much county. While Ronan and David Murray are excellent the other defenders are average enough and I would worry the full back line is weakish. I expect David Murray or Conor Daly to play in the full back line against Clann.

The standout midfielder in the championship has been Cathal Shine and he was excellent again last Sunday. He played minor in 2009 so must be in his late 20s.Don't know if there's any prospect of him coming into the Roscommon setup. You are absolutely right that Roscommon are not good enough at midfield to compete with the top teams. We have excellent forwards and the Defence has improved but we need more in the centre of the park.

I agree. The county team have found it hard to uncover a midfield pairing in the last few years. The managers have had to manufacture a game plan around this deficiency. Where we might find new midfield talent might be a challenge. I have always thought highly of cathal shine but I think maybe too much time has passed him by for various reasons. Has shane cunnane gone off the radar completely? Can dara walsh play at midfield?
