Old School Championship 2020

(Oldest Posts First)

With the Coronavirus outbreak, firstly I wish everyone the best of health untill this is controlled and praying there are as little deaths as possible. It looks like we could have a shortened but old fashioned style championship on our hands.

1) do think that will include the qualifiers as we were introduced to firstly
2) how will this effect your county and your views in general.

As for my saffrons unless we shock fermanagh or Monaghan it could be a one in done for the footballers, hurlers assuming there is an Ulster championship then it's an AI QF as per the previous structure

They're won't be any qualifiers this year just straight knockout like years gone by.

That's what I'm hearing from the high ups in the munster council.

Bottom line is that it won't matter in most provinces but not in Ulster where most teams are on an even par.

I'm all for that. Galway or Antrim in the semis means an easy route to the final for Limerick : )

It may come to that. The GAA are probable all ready giving thought to what may be required. As much as we criticize them they are pro-active but in this instance it is too soon to know what will be necessary.

Would it make a mockery of it if they ran it off over the space of two or three weekends? Provincial first round games in Ulster and Leinster on a Saturday, provincial quarter-finals in all four provinces the next day, provincial semis the next Saturday, finals the next day, All-Ireland semis the next Saturday and the final on the Sunday.

That'll be a serious dent in Kerrys hopes of winning Sam this year!
