From all reports Buckley is a fantastic coach and he definitely assisted in developing the mayo players when he was part of the squad. But at the end of the day, the manager has to get final say on who will be part of the backroom team. The county board cannot shove whoever they want into the backroom team. However I think it would be very strange that the Kerry CB would insist that Buckley had to be part of Keane's backroom team. Keane has worked, with success, with a lot of these Kerry players so surely the Kerry CB will give him some time to develop them. Within the next few years Kerry will be contesting and winning all Irelands again

Has he won much with all the teams he has been with?? When he was involved with Mayo they consistently fell short, with Kerry they also fell short and their backline was very porous last year. they let in three goals against Cork last year, were deplorable against Tyrone for large tracts of the game and Dublin drew with them with fourteen men the first day and in the replay Murchan ran throug the middle of the defence without a hand laid on him. doesn't say much for the coaching really. Often wondered what is the big deal about

I always wondered the same thing. He joined up with mayo at the beginning of the 2013 season, when we were already one of the top 2 or 3 sides in the country. By all accounts the Mayo players had great time for Buckley but he certainly didn't drastically improve us.

No and ye have not fallen off the edge of a cliff since he left either. I believe he was with Limerick too at one time and they never did much
