There's A Storm Coming

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

There's a storm coming but has anyone told the GAA? Red and orange warnings throughout the country tomorrow and yet 7 games are down to go ahead. Wouldn't it just make sense to carry these games over to Sunday or are we burying our heads in the sand for another weekend?

Tyrone U 14 and minors has been called off. Was chatting to a Tyrone lad I know and says the plan at the moment is for the game to go ahead in Healy.

I suspect there will be a pitch inspection and that given snow is forecast in Omagh.

Anyhow strong team just named by the Dubs, so looks like we're planning away for the game to be played!

So everything will be grand on Sunday will it ?
Right so, sure we'll just all hold off until then.

If the Dubs are planning for it, it'll go ahead.
They'd be the first to know if it were called off.

Actually you know what it will be...believe it or not we do have modern weather forecasting in Ireland..the storm will have blown over by then and no risk to anyone travelling on Sunday.

Oh really, I didn't know our modern weather forecast could foretell pitch conditions the day after a storm.

Wish us luck as we'll have to drive through 2 of these red warning counties during the red warning but sure its all part of the adventure,

Gotta love the ould gaa.

The issue i raised is not put pitch conditions .it is supporters having to travel to a game and safety at that game...at least sense has been seen in castlebar and the game is postponed till tomorrow. If the pitch us not playable tomorrow at least supporters safety has not been compromised.

Can't believe Healy Park could absorb all the rainfall but this maybe the last game at Omagh for a while.

Could ye take them to Edendork? I can't remember if there were floodlights there or not.

They give them names when they appear like forming. Brendan became a storm, Aoife didn't...or if it did it blew over before reaching land

Healy Park is consistently the most water-logged pitch in the county. Whoever did that surface ought to be sued. Far better surfaces at other clubs in the county, although they doing have the stands.
