Sorry Canuck but your first line is in need of exploration...that you doubt that some of these sessions were ordered by these coaches... for me, club pitches were open very early in the morning. That means that someone made a phone call looking for the pitch and someone was asked to open the pitch.... that is how I view the sessions. Actually it becomes tiring with you and this argument about semi professional soccer player and your acceptance of them in the work place. Just because they do not go in to as many places as the GAA player it is okay ? I guess the odd old party is okay also because everyone is not doing and there are enough of good citizen following the rules. Do you know for certain they are been tested and who is paying for it ? In Waterford the players were not getting paid because there was no money. Do you really believe they have money to pay for testing. What really is ridiculous is people like you inferring that a few people kicking a ball around are spreading covid. I have members of my family fitting on the front lines against this virus 24/7 and you would want to hear what they have to say about some of the nonsense we are getting fed. We need to keep in prospective what is a danger while not selectively pointing the finger at one group of seven and no interest in another. Were these seven players causing anymore risk than the total number of semi pro soccer players in the country going to the work place. This is out and out hypocrisy. I agree 100% Canuck we are living in a country where the attitude is if I can't have what I want then the crowd over there shouldn't have what they want. It's bringing out a bitterness and nastiness in people which isn't helping us to get through this or isn't helpful in controlling Covid numbers. I'm not looking for rugby or soccer to be stopped as this is obviously an outlet fur players and fans to get away from Covid for a few hours each week but to then say at the same time we can't play or train at another sport is hypocritical and anti that sport. To say the pros are in bubbles and isolated from the rest of us is impractical for a start and just plainly lies. How many sports people in this country in their 20s are earning enough to live in a house or apartment on their own, can't have a partner meet them, get their food delivered and how do they get fuel for their car without interaction with someone. I know of a LOI player who lives at home with his parents who both work in factories and he has a brother still at school- how is this different from most GAA players. Take Johnny Sexton the most high profile professional player in the country, he has a wife and kids at home does he isolate from them during the rugby season or does he meet the kids who are coming home from school or his wife who does the shopping? If he does meet them then he is operating outside the team bubble. The safety of the so called elite sports and their bubble as the answer to their pass to practice and play is a joke. 27 seven players and officials in the Vancouver Canucks organization has the virus and they also spread it in the community. Now a Toronto Maple Leaf player has it and there is a scramble to see where else it went. There was and is strategy by all western democracies. Scare and bully the people that comply to do more. Why because the constitutions will never hold up the prosecutions or fining of the ones who ignore regulations. Lawyers are lining up to take these cases in block to the supreme courts and over turn ones already enacted while making a lot of money. The success of combating the virus in China is because you get shot or locked up if you don't obey. We all have seen the drone descending on the woman ordering her to get off the street.
