I remember a few years ago attending a Munster schools cup Rugby game and the young fans of one of the schools used to read the program, pick out one of the young lads on the opposing team and start a slow chant of his name, starting off low and building it up. It was quite funny and not that offensive but you could see that it was putting the player off. He was wondering why are the opposition calling out my name ? Was playing Junior B a few years ago at the end of my playing days. We were very stuck for numbers and had to play Charley at corner forward. He was worse than terrible and was even getting in the way. Someone from the sideline shouted "FFS if you stuck a post in the ground instead of him at least someone [from the opposing team] might run into it! Here's one that had many on the Hill in stitches at the Dublin and Kerry league game just a few weeks ago. Advancedmark (Mayo) - Posts: 18 - 28/02/2020 21:29:09 2270750 Link 4 |
A Junior C football game where a manager was getting totally frustrated with one of his players. Not only was he useless but he was making no effort, mostly standing still in the same area of the pitch. Eventually the manager can take no more: "Hey Jimmy, warm up, I'm takin' ya off!" midlands (Westmeath) - Posts: 545 - 28/02/2020 21:57:37 2270758 Link 3 |

In Clones '95 somebody brought a whistle to the game and the players were mistaking it for the ref. People were roaring for the supporter to put it away and one ould lad shouts "Ye have it in the wrong hole". Suas Sios (None) - Posts: 1550 - 29/02/2020 12:23:33 2270820 Link 0 |
