Gregory Campbell

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

What was Gregory Campbell on about yesterday. I heard he kept refering to the All Ireland as an International event and good to see a team from Britain beat an Irish team.
This man is supposed to represent both sides of the community in the north. He couldn't even recognise Tyrones great achievements without getting in some cheap shots.

A very good example of the bitterness that still exsists in our Province, this might also help enlighten our southern friends as to why Ulster GAA seems to stick together more than others. I could have a bit of a rant here but as most other people think this is an old and tired mentality and we would all do well to take such comments with a pinch of salt, I will leave the bitterness and pettiness to Mr Campbell.

a folks don't be too hard on gregory, the fact that he knew that the all ireland final was on is progress. i bet he had a sneaky look on sunday after noon because secretly he is a closet nationalist. gregory is well known for his out spoken comments but he is a politician and has to play to his vote base. i know gregory used to slip across the border with derry to get the cheap fuel in donegal thus paying his taxes here to the state in excise duty and help build the tiger economy which helped fund croke park,

Somebody on another thread suggested these comments were make 'tongue in cheek'. Unfortunately that is not the case. The comments were made in a careful and pointed manner to offend the GAA community in Tyrone and across Ulster. They also offend people in the South who closely follow developments there and who are hugely supportive of recent progress in the province - of which there are many. They tell us all we need to know about this man. There will be plenty of welcoming receptions for this team, and rightly so, in the coming months. The lack of invitation to a reception where a narrow minded host does not really want you is no loss. Only one person looks very small in all this and he doesn't have Tir Eoghain on any item in this wardrobe.

Momo, thank you so much for "enlightening" us. Please rest assured we will give your opinions
all the consideration that they deserve. Now, go and feed the pit-bulls.

Did I miss the news today? Have we been stuck into an All Ireland? Or is Gregory right?

Mind you, the way all these people keep posting about "Ulster this and Ulster that" I thought it was mostly Gregory's party faithful on this board.

Oh and what he said is just the peace process. Leading figures like Gregory, Jeffrey, Martin and Gerry still have to say these things now and again to pretend to the party faithful that they are not giving an inch. Well, the stupid end of the party faithful.

This year we had Glentoran at the Ulster final, DUP councillors at the launching of Antrim's centre of excellence, and best of all, Jackie MacDonald, head of the UDA was supposed to be giving a talk at a GAA club in Andytown last Friday night.

I suspect Gregory probably watched the match in Martin's house in the Bogside. All the pubs had Chelsea V Man United on.

Patrique how is he politically correct? The north is a part of the UK, not Britain. So how is he politically correct?

Gregory Campbell deserves the same blanket answer that Mickie Harte scud missiled towards his " Mickie Bashers" yest evening when he said They have limited knowledge and therefore one must respect their ignorance. I love that statement.

Oh and what part of the north do you come from tomaoo7, just what "truth" are you refering to? Probably never gotten further than Newry whilst taking advantage of some cheap shopping ni doubt.

Technically it is the UK, but we are that used to calling ourselves British, because saying g I am UK would sound daft, we just say Britain. Suffice to say it was a team from thhe UK, or Great Briatain and Northern Ireland that one it. And the hypocrisy on here. In 2003 all the crack was the "All British" final between between Armagh and Tyrone. And having read that attack on that poor poster from Dublin "Probably only been as far as Newry" I must ask if that post was sent by the same person who described me as an idiot for stating that "Nationalists" in the North hate "Free Staters". Course the don't, just attack them like pit bulls when they are bold enough to say something their narrow minds cannot accept. It is sad to see that Northern Nationalists still have a siege mentality, never mind Gregory and his friends.
