Starting new topic to discuss any potential news around Galway senior football panel changes. Has anybody heard anything from the camp yet? Who would ye like to see dropped from the 2019 panel? thetribesman15 (Galway) - Posts: 25 - 04/11/2019 22:32:01 2247793 Link 0 |

Brannigan, Kerin, Gary o'donnell, Bradshaw, Wynne, Kyne, Heaney are not good enough for the Galway panel IMO. I know there will be a lot of people that will disagree with me on this. Maroonforever (Galway) - Posts: 414 - 05/11/2019 09:50:21 2247833 Link 0 |
Brannigan near single handedly got galway to a league final 2 years ago and was unfortunate to be held back last year through injury

Panel is 30 players. Have to be realistic. The only one on that list who has had is day is GOD. Kyne was very good when he came on against Mayo though he is limited obviously. Kerin is an excellent corner back no idea where people get the idea he isn't. Heaney has been poor for 18 months, needs to justify his continued selection now. Wynne isn't anything special, probably won't make next panel id say. Bradshaw still has a role to play imo. Brannigan a decent impact sub has great pace though his end product is often terrible. Put simply we don't have 30 odd players better than your list. kazoochka (Galway) - Posts: 344 - 05/11/2019 17:26:23 2247950 Link 0 |
Kerin is not a good defender he is constantly fouling and getting booked unnecessarily didn't stand out as a man marker in any of the games this yr. Bradshaw does not have the pace to get up and down the pitch anymore which is why his days in an intercounty jersey are against him IMO. Is gary o donnell not still one of the best footballers in the county? rhudson (Galway) - Posts: 1478 - 06/11/2019 16:55:52 2248149 Link 0 |
GOD is a 7 out of 10 player every day. But he's getting older and we probably need to gamble on half backs with serious pace. GOD is safe and steady but when we move up a level against the big boys I think we need more. Maybe it is exacerbated when both him and Bradshaw play together. Probably could afford one in hb line but with both we look one paced.

I probably agree that on the wings you need guys with pace and mobility. galwayman2 (Galway) - Posts: 1328 - 07/11/2019 08:43:46 2248219 Link 0 |
Brannigan, Kelly , Heaney all good options for wing back if were looking for speed and attacking presence
