English and Irish both count. I reckon Cuala is the shortest in both languages. shaneShankill (Dublin) - Posts: 42 - 24/09/2019 23:30:52 2238948 Link 0 |
Don't think you'll find shorter than Emo (Laois). Irish version of it seems to be Ioma. Both shorter than Cuala. Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2247 - 25/09/2019 10:17:56 2238994 Link 2 |

Actual official name of the Enniscorthy club that's called Rapparees in hurling and Starlights in football is 'Enniscorthy Hurling and Football Club'. That's 33 characters. 37 if you count spaces.... Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2247 - 25/09/2019 12:20:43 2239032 Link 0 |
Dromcollogher/Broadford (22) and on the short side Oola or Doon (4) are the best I can think of from Limerick Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1236 - 25/09/2019 12:29:47 2239035 Link 0 |
There's a rumour that a couple of Irish lads in Wales are going to start a club called Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch Gaels. Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2247 - 25/09/2019 13:17:38 2239061 Link 1 |

I'm sure there's many a club out there with the official name "X Gaelic Athletic Association" so there's 25 letters off the bat. You'd only need a 9 letter name (Bally-name) to reach 34 characters.

Ach - we're going to have to set some rules here. Some folk are including Gaelic Athletic Club for an extra 18 letters and some aren't. lionofludesch (Down) - Posts: 475 - 25/09/2019 17:47:49 2239164 Link 0 |

I might be wrong, but I think Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams would be the longest club name in Tipp

Spa looks like the winner. There is nothing added. I wonder what people shout from the sidelines. "Come in Spa?" shaneShankill (Dublin) - Posts: 42 - 25/09/2019 23:17:56 2239247 Link 0 |
