All Ireland Final - Who You Shouting For?

Replying To avonali:  "IT is indeed. I think there are a couple of factors at play.
1. Most neutrals would love to see a a radical shift in the status quo. If Kerry think that the rest of the country are craving a Kerry win on the basis that change is good they are mistaken. Kerry have won 37 times and another Kerry win would just be like a routine changing of the guard. It would be like swapping seats on the Titanic. If Dublin were playing Mayo, Cork, Galway or say Down, then I think most posters would support them rather than the Dubs.
2. I really believe there was a time when Kerry were the aristocrats of football in the sense that could win matches based on skill and athleticism alone. They were tough but not 'dirty'. I think there is a perception that those in influence in Kerry football believed that in order to match the toughness of Tyrone or Donegal that they had to change this perception of themselves as a clean team. Hence the frequency with which recent Kerry teams have got themselves embroiled in brawls and the 'dark arts' in an effort to 'put it up' to other teams. I think it's unthinkable that in the 80s or 90s a Kerry player would fishhook an opponent. This may have altered our perception of them to the point where the tag 'aristocrat' no longer seems appropriate. I mean no offence when I write that it's just that is how I see the evolution of Kerry teams over the the past decade.
3. I don't think HS is representative of the feelings of the country at large. This is a place where debate can get lively and people get defensive of their own counties. Unfortunately some of us go overboard and some of the posts by Kerry posters in particular seemed quite bitter and their claims unjustifiable. As far as I know Cluxton, Jack Mcaffrey, Brian Fenton et al. went to their jobs this morning. They are not professional footballers. Fact. I think it's regrettable also that some Kerry posters believe that a Dublin win spells the end of GAA football. Would they have been saying that in 1982 had the won the five in a row. They went on to win the next three All-Irelands from 83 on. That would have been 9 in a row. Would that have been good for football? The notion that the GAA wants Dublin to keep winning for financial reasons is utter nonsense. Continued Dublin success will affect the gate receipts. If money was the bottom line surely they'd go all out to stop the Dubs
4. The Kerry attempt to raise concerns over the appointment of David Gough left a bad taste in a lot of peoples' mouths.
Kerry fans may feel they have a case but to other fans it seemed like a cynical ploy to influence Gough in advance of the final.
Sin a bhfuil.."
One of my worst days in Croke Park was the semi final of 2001 where Meath hammered us. It was awful watching Sean Boylan running the line trying to rein his players in. You could see him telling them to slow down and not score any more.

On the way home that night we stopped in Wexford st for a drink, that was even worse. We got sympathy and pitiful looks, bouncers holding the door and saying sorry. I never want that again. I'll take hatred over pity every time

I'm perfectly happy with Cork and Mayo supporters disliking us. I think it was 1991 when Cork hammered us by 15 points and the chant from them was "lock the gates and make the fu***rs watch" now that's more like it
;)

It was 1990 Cork hammered Kerry but in 1991 Kerry beat Cork.

Kerry 100%, I backed them to win it out at the start of the Super 8's so my pocket is a good reason!
Anything is possible in a two horse race and Dublin tend to make hard word of winning on All Ireland Final Day even when they are hot favourites (last year conceded 1-14 to Tyrone)
Kerry definitely have better forwards than Tyrone had in last years Final and they will exploit Dublins doggy Full back line.

I'd be delighted for the Dubs if they do the 5 in a row because I think they are a really great bunch of lads and have been a great team to watch over the last few years but!.....I'll be equally pleased if this young Kerry team spearheaded by young Clifford and Geaney and O' Sé manage to do the nigh impossible and beat this great Dublin team in Croke Park. In conclusion, looking for a cracker of a game and will be happy for whatever team wins.

You're right of course, I probably have a brain freeze about losing to Down again in 91 another day in Croke Park I want to try and forget

Dublin deserve to win 5 in a row, play the game in the right way but that is only due to the amount of outstanding players they have had. I don't think Kerry can put it up to the Dubs as they did in 2013 & 2016.

Dublin. For the unbelievable players they have and the consistency of top class displays year in year out, the hunger and drive to keep at the top has to be admired

Dubs all the way, hoping they can make history and win the 5 in a row, fantastic team and top class ambassadors for the game. Dubs by 5 or 6 points at least.

Ahh jasus can they both not just lose? ??
Joking aside I married a dub and for that reason I wouldn't mind seeing them win, on the other hand I could have a good 6 months slagging off the in-laws if Kerry were to win, hmmmm. Also as a Meath man I have a dna dislike of dubs football. But if any team deserves to win 5 in row then it is this dubs team.

Nothing in this for the neutral. You'd miss Mayo. Dublin winning is a but soul destroying. Too many advantages. Too much false modesty.
At least Sheedy showed a but of joy and passion.
Dublin to win 7 or 8 in a row.

Dubs for me.
I really admire the way Dublin play. They go out to win each game with a relentlessness that eventually grinds down the opposition. They are strong and tough at the back and have an abundance of skill all over the pitch but even with all that they apply a ferocious workrate right up to the final whistle. They show a continuous hunger that you only see from GREAT teams. I hope they win on Sunday and I think they will and thoroughly deserve their 5 in a row.
I have also not yet forgiven the arrogance shown by Kerry from some of their players and management after they beat us in the 2014 final so I find it hard to cheer for them since.

Kerry.
For the good of football and because Kerry have always played proper football, even when the Ulster teams introduced this blanket defence, pulling and dragging and generally negative football, Kerry still kick passed the ball, played attacking football and are always a pleasure to watch. Dublin's main strength is their athleticism and obvious advantages in S&C, they are not as naturally gifted as the likes of Kerry or Mayo. The Kingdom are a team developed on the playing field, not in the gym. And I still remember how dirty and cynical the Dubs were in the 70's and 80's so it has to be Kerry for me.

Come on the Kingdom !

I could never shout for any Kerry team ever. Their moaning, yapping and whingeing when Tyrone were beating them was hard to take and left a very bitter taste amongst Ulster Gaels. As much as Dublin get every assistance going I hope they win by 15pts+ just to see the reaction in Kerry.
