Seriously who would red thumb someone wishing a man and his family well? There are some sick individuals lurking on this forum.

I can't understand this, A real professional and not just a top class player but a real classy guy aswell. You will be missed Andy, What a player! enjoy retirement."
Just trolls. Nothing to say, nothing better for doing except trying to get a rise from some people. Best ignored.

They were probably giving him the finger as well but just pointing him towards the dressing like.....

Replying To sourmilk93:  "Because he ran around a pitch during an FBD game giving fans of all ages the fingers. He was a smashing footballer dont get me wrong but he wasnt the unbelievable guy on and off the pitch most folk on here are saying he was. What he did in Kiltoom that day was a disgrace and pathetic. Many a footballer done a hell of a lot worse and got a bad reputation in the national media. Andy got away as if he was a saint, and mind you Andy was about 34 when he done this not a young 18 year old."
I'd say if you had to listen to the equivalent abuse he had to endure in kiltoom for an hour and ten minutes, one might also be inclined to extend one's index and middle fingers!! Didn't they tell you in school, for every action there's an equal and opposite reaction ;-)

Great player. Up there with conor mortimer as one of the great forwards of the last 25 years. Will be badly missed

Well he only came on with about 10 minutes to go so your times are all wrong. A few clowns were booing him when he was warming up and when he came on. Fair play he came on and done the business and i wouldny even mind him kissing the badge but to run out the field like a wild animal giving everyone the fingers is not on in my eyes especially for a 34 year old grown man.
He was one of Mayos best and i usually never have any problem with any controversial figures but its laughable the comments on him that he was such a lovely fella on and off the field and one of the nicest guys ever.

Giving fans of all ages the finger? Of course he was. I heard he threw a dig at a baby in a Roscommon jersey too!

He scored a late winning and kissed the Mayo badge after getting some abuse and that has rubbed some Rossies up the wrong way. You're username is apt.

A proud Mayo man and a great servant to Mayo GAA. He'll be sorely missed.

whether you will admit it or not Andy Moran is one that every single person hitting the thumbs down on these posts wishes they could have had in their team. An animal that still peaked into his mid 30's, not too many more classy players doing this, it goes without saying that this man deserves the utmost respect from any GAA fan.

Good luck in your retirement Andy, always a popular footballer up these neck of the woods.

I expect to see you back with Mayo football in some capacity in the near future.

And it actually wasnt even that bad compared to the booing he got in Croker a few months later. I dont agree with booing by the way anyone who boo's a player when he gets the ball or is hitting a free is a loser in my eyes"
I agree, sure the Mayo fans boo every time the opposition are taking a free, you can see that same mentality by the behaviour of the like of Keegan O'Connor and Boyle down the years, Moran was a good enough player but maybe he didn't have enough good men around him, he might have been better off playing for his own county,
enjoy the retirement Andy and sorry you never won the big one. suppose the trolls will thumb this down too.

All the best to Andy in his retirement from county football. The man was a master of movement in the inside forward line, He wasn't blessed with blistering pace nor was he a physically dominant forward. But just watch how easy he made it look to get out in front and win primary possession. Seeing him in action live was an education every time and he is certainly a player I'd be advising any young player to watch and learn from. Especially in this day and age of gym sessions and over reliance on tactics. Football played at its best is a simple game. Andy Moran typified that. Out in front, make an angle, pop it over the bar, Simple.

Mayo contested 7 All Ireland finals since he made his debut in 2003, off the top of someone's head how many of them would Andy have played in?
It must be heart-breaking to have never gotten over the line given all those opportunities, but a great credit to the man that he kept returning to try his best.
Terrorised us in 2017 in the replay and deserved his player of the year accolade.
Still in all 8 Connacht titles and a National League - how many Mayo players over the past 50 years could boast that medal haul?

All the best to Andy Moran in his retirement, top quality forward. It's a pity he didn't manage to land an All-Ireland but sure it, that's sport unfortunately.

Great player
Started out as a wing forward and even played wing back for Mayo.
Took him a while to find a position and when he found it he was very good.
Absolute disaster for himself and Mayo getting injured in 2012, he was playing his best stuff that time. Destroyed O Se in 2011 but couldn't get the goals to win it, flying it in 2012 and last few mins of the hammering of Down, innocuous injury and ruined the year. Would have made a huge difference in final that year.

Took him a while to get over that injury and lost speed after it so to get player of the year in 2017 is some achievement. The footballing brain he has is something else and hes a huge loss to the Mayo team and equally the Mayo dressing room.

You would need to understand Roscommon supporters to understand this!

You have some neck on ya accusing other people of being trolls with a post like that and with the constant disparaging posts towards Mayo people. A thread simply wishing a Mayo player who has given years of service to his county and the GAA in general and yet you still can't but help take a swipe at Mayo. Unbelievable!

You obviously were not at the game if thats all you seen him do. He scored the goals fair play to him and kissed the badge i have no problem with that but he also gave the fingers to both sides of the field.

He was a 34 year old man Mayo actaully still were knocked out as Roscommon made the final of the micky mouse cup making his pathetic actions even more silly.
