Kerry V Tyrone

Replying To kevin03:  "Ah the donegal saints. Never mind you have 2 players who are constantly winning to the ref (Murphy and mchugh), how about your other star player who waves imaginary cards (mcbreaty), oh and not forgetting the star defender who tried to break a forwards finger on camera. Give me a break.

To all the bitter fans jog on and maybe try to take off the blinkers, you might actually see what some of your players are really like.

To all the normal decent kerry fans hope it's a great game and no matter what everyone can enjoy a few pints together."
Some rubbish posts on here looking forward to the game

Tyrone will need to keep their free count down

Kerry have a major free taking skill advantage

I think this will be the difference

Telling ya, if Clifford's movement is half as good as it was against us and if the Kerry midfield and half-forwards spot the pass into him in time, Tyrone could be in trouble. What a player to watch in the flesh.

I've a funny feeling Tyrone might go back to 2003 here, wonder how well a young Kerry team would handle the blanket.

Hoping for a good game here but not at all confident we'll get one. As for all the talk about cynicism etc. both these sides are well capable of dragging the game into the gutter. It's quite a while since Billy Morgan referred to the most cynical team in the country being from the south west. Only difference now is that Kerry have competition on that department.

The best of both these teams wont beat the Dubs anyway, so it's a race to be first loser!

Replying To westkerry:  "So you agree with off the ball fouling and sledging?
You dont think it's a stain on our games?
You can't beat your man fairly so you wrestle him to ground off the ball is bodycheck his run?
I'm digging by raising that prior to the game.
The amount of it from the Donegal full back line was a disgrace in our match."
You couldn't make this up Kerry arguing about off the ball fouling...What was it the the great Billy Morgan said "The most cynical team he ever came across was from the south-west".

I can distinctly remember a certain Kerry forward -now retired but working as a Sky pundit - going up to Philly MacMahon at half time in the 2016 Semi-Final as the teams were going off the pitch. Kerry had just scored two goals and were flying. He had his hand on Philly's shoulder and was whispering sweet nothings into his ear.

I remember looking on with great satisfaction as he lay prone on the pitch after the final whistle.
A certain Roy Keane line entered my head just then.

Replying To TheHermit:  "It's telling that the only thing people on here can point to trying to support their BS about Kerry going out to be a cynical team is one moment of stupidity by a worked up exile trying to make his mark from ten years ago! If we're forced to play rough we had to learn the hard way a decade ago that you need to be ready for it. But Kerry teams go out to play football first and foremost and there's been plenty of games over the years to prove that for any doubting Thomas's on here!
For all this guff about Kerry it's a pity fellas memories don't seem to recall the Dubs antics - like in the closing minutes of the 2013 final, or in the closing minutes against us in the 2016 semi or indeed again in the 2017 decider. Far worse than what any Kerry team ever did. But sure I suppose that stuff is just filed under the term "game control".
We'll see how nice Tyrone play Sunday.
Hopefully it will be an honest contest and the star players get protection they need from the refs"
Now their after dragging up Billy's comments from decades ago, a fella's whose career was defined by losing to Kerry teams - no bias there :D

I believe Philly referred to this in his book.

It was Kerry supporters who started this nonsense of their innocent players needing protection from big bad Tyrone. It's a great tactic that Kerry always use to try and pressurise referees but I think at this stage it's run it's course. I'd say we'll get a relatively clean game of football on Sunday and predict it to be high enough scoring.

He did indeed.

Quite the thing to say

Hope he enjoyed Philly mentioning it in his critically acclaimed and award winning book.

There is dreadful cynicism involved and the lack of willingness to stamp it out is sad really. Fella's getting blaggarded all the time and linesmen and referees have to step up and do something. It's all a matter whether it's Enright or Cavanagh or whoever but the players need to be getting the line and fairly sharpish and that would soften their cough quick enough.

IN fairness to KD I don't think he was the one who said that thing. I don't that was the incident he was referring to.
I actually don't think KD would stoop that low.

Heard the GAA said maybe 50,000.

Kerry generally don't travel so it could be tight getting that.

This is the same KD who was red carded for punching Aiden O'Shea in the face a couple of years ago?
