So the most likely pairings are Kerry v Tyrone Dublin v Donegal or Mayo That's in the basis Dublin favourites to beat or draw Tyrone and Kerry in first place now and have easiest match. First off think the fact this game is the following week from quarterfinals 3rd game is totally unfair. Not fair on playing squads but mostly on fans that need to fork out €55 per ticket so soon after three big quarter final games. It's just as big a factor if not bigger for the dip in attendance at Croke Park these last two seasons. Also one team must face a 6 day turnaround. I'd like to make the case it better be Dublin They have every advantage going already, they have the squad depth to cope, a dead rubber the week before and sure the president says they love Saturday evenings. That looks about right. Will be interesting to see what Harte and Gavin do in Omagh. I think both teams will make a lot of changes and the Dubs will probably edge what will be a dull enough game. Tyrone will not go for it - no way. Hope the atmosphere in Omagh is better than it was in Croke Park on Saturday. That was one dull day. As the games are on the same time for each group, there is no reason to factor in tv clash. Therefore they could have had one set of games at 5pm Saturday and one at 7pm Saturday. It's a disgrace it's a week of a gap. Grand if your living in Dublin. Imagine coming from Donegal, Mayo or Kerry. It is 4 to 5 hours one way from certain places. A joke. No regard for fans at all. What about accommodation. Alot of people get paid monthly. They just cannot afford this. But sure the Dubs will be grand. Wouldn't be predicting anything as it goes, Tyrone are the team im most weary off in the championship to be honest, so i wouldn't be confidently predicting a Dublin win in Omagh. That and the nature of the game might see both teams treat it like a phony war, there is perhaps a sub plot for us in that many lads have put their hands up for a starting shirt coming on who might get the nod in Omagh, that all might see an adverse outcome to assumed logic. Then there is always Diarmuid Connolly. I wouldn't be to worried with a six day turn around and if offered the choice id prefer the Saturday semi to the Sunday one. I think the GAA will plumb for that as well. Nothing like the Dubs on a Saturday evening. Not to worried who we draw to be honest, you have to play everyone to win it. There was always going to be a chance for Mayo to remain in contention after their 1st group match because of the way the fixtures favoured them. If they had been playing Donegal in Round 2 instead of Meath they would have been beaten and out of the Championship.
