To the above poster, Fermanagh have a far greater chance of winning Ulster then any team winning Leinster. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 20/01/2019 15:04:01 2158396 Link 5 |

Interesting observation you make royaldunne. I didn't think about Dublin's dominance in that context.

It's a sobering fact, and one until recently I hadn't thought of myself, It has a knock on effect, look while I would dearly love Meath to win Leinster over next few years, I feel it is as important to the game that some other county apart from dubs wins it, be that Kildare, longford, Carlow , Westmeath, Laois. The province is dying and until one of us beats Dublin it will only get worse.

Fermanagh are 40-1 to win Ulster on betfair. Meath and Kildare are both 14-1 on betfair to win Leinster. Now betting markets aren't always perfect and Meath/Kildare probably are shorter odds because of a tradition bias but it is still quite clear that Meath or Kildare both have a much better chance of winning the Leinster championship than Fermanagh have of winning Ulster. Meath being on the opposite side of the draw to Dublin in Leinster and the nature of the qualifiers where Provincial finalists win 1 match to reach the super 8s means that Meath have a great chance of reaching the super 8s. Fermanagh have Donegal and a likely quarterfinal against Tyrone to reach an Ulster final. More likely they'll enter round 1 of the qualifiers and have to negotiate 4 rounds to reach the super 8s. The whoa is me guff that comes out of you is embarrassing. Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 4614 - 20/01/2019 16:15:11 2158422 Link 4 |

Agree. Kildare and Meath are constantly mentioned in the media as the two best placed teams to oust Dublin. I hope that one of us can do it in the next few years. And that will give encouragement to all other Leinster teams. It would be great to see Leinster truly competitive again. lilywhite1 (Kildare) - Posts: 3061 - 20/01/2019 16:27:59 2158431 Link 0 |
