I can only assume most people on this site will prefer GAA - however i would be curious as to peoples preference between the major field sports in Ireland- Hurling, Football, Rugby, Soccer

For me its 1. Hurling 2. Football 3. Rugby 4. Soccer (a long way behind the other three)

Ach now redhot.... cycling before football? are you lost?

Maybe football shorts just aren't tight enough for you.

Bring back the 1980's football shorts and see redhot rearrange his favourites.

Football, soccer, hurling, rugby. No comparison between gaa and rugby if you have an interest in both.

Why is a matter of either or? Mike Galwey played Gaelic Football for Kerry and rugby for Ireland (ie he's from a village which in terms of population has produced more British & Irish Lions than any other).

Hopefully, the ELVs will make rugby more appealling to watch as they are meant to encourage faster and front forward rugby. In Gaelic Football it would be great to restore some element of normality to the midfield, award two points for a kick over the bar from far out the field* and a reduction from 15 to 12 players to curb the rooting and tearing that some teams seem to trade in.

* by painting the necessary elipses on to the pitch to signify the boundary line between the one point and two point kicks.

I think rugby is better than GAA at the moment and can only get better still because the new rules that were played in the Tri-Nations reduces the number of penalties in a game and frees it up a bit (thus rendering england useless).

GAA hasn't been exciting since ulster teams ruined football and hurling is a one team monopoly so wheres the excitment there?

Ps if anyone wants to tear me down for that comment, try and do so without having a go at Meath because i rihihieally don't care whats said about us.
