Stats like that don't win games , it's what's goes into the goals and over the bar that counts, it's a panel game so other lads should step it up , , but really the decision at the end not to give free to Meath was ludicrous

Bon as a Kildare supporter I'm not surprised you were watching hurling.

I was at the game but I haven't seen it back so it's hard to conclusively comment on the decisions the ref made. I thought some important decisions did go against us (looked like a free at the end) but look that's the game, and furthermore the game was in our hands but we couldn't put it away, 100% not the ref's fault in that regard. Well said Royaldunne. I dont complain about referees but was he serious. That said, Tyrone's wastefulness in front of goal could have seen us off earlier in match David (Meath) - Posts: 567 - 09/06/2018 23:08:43 2109187 Link 0 |
Don't get me wrong I understand why he was aggrieved. I was enraged myself, but I was more angry at our inability to close the game out in normal time. That's what McEntee should be really frustrated about. Why the team can't defend a one point lead against a 14 man team with only 30 seconds left is the thing he should be really angry about. Be enraged all you like just deal with it in the dressing room and on the training field, don't throw a tantrum in public. Also it's not unusual for McEntee to get very worked up. I've seen him bawl referees out of it before. I'm happy he has the right passion for the job, just needs to contain himself a bit better at certain times. Excellent impartial viewpoint.

It's up to Andy , if he wants to continue I'm sure they will let him. But it's up to him.

I agree, and the stats meant that Tyrone still won. The qualifiers are all about getting over the line - Harte will be loving the talk about his team now.. If they get decent draw in next round they will be very dangerous. Hats off to Meath, those lads emptied the tank for their team and management and were so close, out of championship but pride restored nonetheless. I'm with you. Did not see the second period of extra time so don't really know what happened in the end. It was obviously passion that drove him. He has gone up in my estimation after today. No accountability in anything nowadays. Not getting at Tyrone here but Meath were the better team in normal time and had the referee got all his decisions right they would have won. He was a factor in the result. Was a stone wall penalty and is the black card finished with? Don't know what the Meath player was sent off for (second yellow)?? was that to try and justify a poor decision mhunicean_abu (Monaghan) - Posts: 1067 - 10/06/2018 00:22:13 2109216 Link 0 |
Thanks for your concern about Tyrones wastefulness in front of goal, but I really think you should hope that Donegal are just as wasteful against yourselves, referee made plenty of ludicrous decisions against both teams, but then again in your eyes any decision Tyrone seem to get is more ludicrous than any other. You really wanna let things go and lighen up, life's too short

I didn't see the game but wasn't surprised at all it was so close. Meath have great pedigree and are always capable of putting on a show on their own patch. Tyrone are poor and badly need new direction in how they play and they approach games. In fact Ulster football in general is dire at the minute. The skill and naturally talented players are being stifled in this muscle man, defensive, crab like 'football'. It's bloody awful if we are being honest and no wonder the fans are staying away. Oh would you stop 'Brolly' with the absolute nonsense and made up 'stats' Tyrone had two goal chances which were brilliantly saved and one correctly called for a free out. Meath also had two goal chances in that period of not as clear cut and I don't know how many efforts we dropped short or passed the ball away to a Tyrone Player. And DO NOT get me started on the poor refereeing

highking this is always the Tyrone play the lack of a settled free taker (ok Lee is injured) since or groly days has been our down fall on more that 1 occasion, under the present system of denfence before attack by the time a forward gets a shot away he is wreaked from running the whole way form his own 45 and the hits it wide or drops it short fact is we no long have the top forwards needed to win on our team or if they are they are starved off possession Ronan o Neill showed tonight we need to trust him and our forwards more his run for the goal in et was the winning of the match how many off the goal chances would the dubs or Kerry missed that we did this evening the forward I would have on my team everyday from tonight was the Meath no 10 ( with the ponytail) skillfull and and eye for a score top class forward Meath had a point to prove after Longford I think they show signs tonight the are on the way back redbomb (Tyrone) - Posts: 167 - 10/06/2018 01:32:14 2109231 Link 0 |
Is it just me or was the ref not terrible for both teams? I know the final decision went against Meath but there was numerous occasions were Tyrone failed to get an obvious free or where the advantage rule was not applied when they were straight through on goal. lambofgod (Mayo) - Posts: 116 - 10/06/2018 07:26:03 2109245 Link 3 |
Typical Tyrone, winning again even though most Tyrone fans cant bear the management and team set up. Typical Down....ermm typical Down going nowhere.

Good performance by Meath and were unlucky not to win it. Cillian O'Sullivan in particular was very good I thought. tyroneed (Tyrone) - Posts: 753 - 10/06/2018 09:32:08 2109269 Link 0 |
