Hard to see any area were we can gain advantage over Tyrone in this game. They have the better players, playing at a much higher level and tactically we still haven't found a way to breakdown organised defensive systems.
I really hope we can show some pride though and not go out of the championship with a whimper. This is a home game and if we lose the summer is already over, we need to make Tyrone earn their victory.
Based on the evidence available Tyrone by more than 5 points.

They didnt win a match in Croker in 00s or couldnt win a qualfier game in 00s eitheir. Focus on Meath v Tyrone and do us all a favour and stop waffling on."]Im just making the point that Leinster teams beating top division 1 oppostion outside the provience since 2000 is very rare. And in this decade is incredibly rare, it is only happened once. Im not talking about the past Im talking this era , the current era and the fact is only 1 leinster team in this decade has beaten a top team, a top division 1 team outside the provience besides Dublin. And that only victory by leinster team beating top 5 or 6 team since 2010 was Longford beating Monaghan in 2016. That is the best victory any leinster team has had outside the provience since 2010. That is an indication of how weak leinster football is besides the Dubs. PS JR iarmhi, yep thats another victory. Wexford v Armagh in 08. I forgot about that one. Im just remebering games off the top of my head, so I do miss one or two. Where Armagh in decline in 08 ? it was 6 years since they won Sam in 08. Where they in the top 5 or 6 teams in the country in 2008. They were in divsion 2 in 2008 and 2009. But I will take that as another victory v top team for leinster football. JR Iarmhi, what do you think would you include it?. So that would be six victories for leinster teams v top oppostion since 2000. But only 1 of those 6 victories occured in this decade the other 5 were in the 00. Leinster football was more competitive inside and outside the provience in the 00s. it has fallen of the cliff in this decade with exception of Dublin of course.

Meath won't stay the course for an entire c'ship but a tea with tradition can always lift it to knock a so-called favourite off their perch. This is a weakened Tyrone team afflicted by some odd selection decisions. Nobody in Tyrone I've spoken to would be too surprised if Tyrone lost - and some wouldn't care if it meant we could get players back for the club competitions. Given that Tyrone's exit without winning Sam is inevitable, whether that exit is tomorrow or later on hardly matters.

A sunny summers day and a championship game in Navan with two teams with huge questions to answer.
Are Meath as bad as they have looked or is there a big day and a big result in them?
Are Tyrone still genuine Super 8 contenders or are they on a downhill slope?
Maybe not the best game to look forward to but it will be intriguing all the same and by 7pm tonight maybe some questions will have been answered.
Looking forward to the game and hoping for a big crowd, great atmosphere and a Meath victory to cheer us Royals up.
To the Meath supporters, lets all get behind the team and hope they can pull it off.
To all Tyrone supporters, welcome to Navan, enjoy the game and most of all safe travelling.

Jesus I'm nearly up for Meath, despite the nonsense that comes from some of their historians on here. Meaths record in the qualifiers is probably as bad as it gets but they always have belief and I do think they're capable of having a good day. Is it today? With Peter Harte and Mattie Donnelly(?) sidelined, Tyrone would be lacking in star quality, so this is fairly even. Don't be surprised if a Leinster team beats an ulster team, it's not new.

Even more surprising I am hoping for both Kildare and Westmeath to win (I'm blaming it on the sun).

Defence is so poor, bringing back numbers is no use if you don't actually tackle anyone. They also look clumsy and awkward when the do tackle, looks like they're going to give needless free away.
Upfront, we must not have watched how Monaghan deconstructed the Tyrone defence once they had numbers back. We need to spread them wide and then cut back against the grain with a hard run. We have the players to do that in O'Sullivan, Reilly and Brennan.
Have to increase the defensive intensity, and also need to switch Gallagher off McAliskey. We really need someone from Ulster to coach us in defensive systems.

Tyrone two up. Missed a bag full. Hopefully it won't come back and bite them. Meath have a few tidy players who could do damage

Meath are up for this - and could easily have just been awarded a penalty. Extra time would not be a surprise.

at this point if tyrone get away with a win here BIG changes are needed, what a complete ball of crap, enough wides to win 2 games and the goal chance misses are criminal, time harte looked at himself and asked is he the problem or are tyrone deluding themselves that they are a top 4 team, utter useless
