It is a hefty price tag but if it saves a fella scrambling around for AI tickets it might be just worth it. Of course you are assuming they'll be All Ireland finals to attend. I could end up like my Godfather, buying into the Kerry ten year ticket scheme in the winter of 1986!!!

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "Ya Barry o'Sullivan is a very good midfielder horse but doesn't really have that explosive pace he'd have been well suited to the game the way it was 10/15 years ago , like I've said many times in the past mark o'Connor has it all and would put Brian Fenton in his pocket if he were at home.

I think Patrick O'sullivan dropped the ball big time by not fighting to keep mark at home like Tim Murphy did with Clifford."
To be fair I don't think Clifford was that interested in going to Australia. I would know the O'Connor family and by all accounts Mark was determined to give it a go, I don't think there was anything the County board could have done to change his decision. I'm gutted that we won't see him in a Kerry jersey as I think he has the potential to be one of the all time greats but I wish him every success out there. Kerry need to move on and plan without him now. I really hope he makes it and doesn't come back with a bad injury like poor Tommy Walsh.

I would largely agree with Hennesseys players for 2018, I would certainly add Tom O'Sullivan who was very impressive in Kerry training last season according to those in the know, and Micheal Burns of crokes is also worth a look at wing forward.

What a stable of wing backs we will have in the coming years, Murphy, O'Beaglaoich, O'Sullivan, White and Wharton all looking for two places!

Coming back to the Aussie Rules, along with Okunbar, David Shaw was being touted as a done deal to go to Australia not long ago. Does anybody know what happened with him? He was an unbelievable minor and colleges player but doesn't seem to have kicked on as he doesn't get any game time with the crokes either. Has he been injured or something?

No Gerry I didn't hear anything about David Shaw but he would be a big loss as he was one I could see making it on to our senior team down the road.

And ya I forgot to mention Michael burns in the post above.

Dromid just pipped in South Kerry final yesterday, Ballydonoghue came out on top well in north Kerry last week.

The West Kerry boys took a big defeat yesterday in League final but they are the coming team you'd feel.

Is that the club scene more or less done and dusted now till 2018?

That could be a tasty affair. I'd expect an Gaeltacht to go all the way. They've made some very impressive strides, so too have Dromoid. Thought they were very unlucky yesterday, especially missing that free in front of the posts.

Ya I read that all right the hermit, in fairness I have no problem with the dubs earning money through sponsors thats money they get through being in the capital and having a 1/4 of the population, but where I have the problem is the GAA and central council giving them ludicrous amounts of money when they don't need it.

And ya it should be a cracker of a game on the 15th of January Moy will be tough but to crack with the cavanagh and others to contend with.

looks like Clifford will be given his Iron in the national league - me thinks we will see a lot of "youth" and change this year panel wise..

Well I'd still like to see him play U-20, but look the only way we will know if he is ready for the top level is to throw him into the deep end come February and see how he fares!

If he struggles to make an impact, he can always be left to concentrate on underage for another year or two until he is physically more developed.

If he looks comfortable, let him play away. As long as he is taken care of and isn't flogged like poor Michael Murphy was up in Donegal, he will hopefully be around the seniors for many years!

Will we ever emerge from the doldrums when did we last have a Kerry captain that was a definite starter.? In every club in kerry the manager or players chose the captain a natural leader but we are still in the stone ages where we have the captain still being the county champions - no offense to the Crokes man but if any of us are picking our starting 15 for championship or even league 2018 I doubt he would be a nailed on starter. I could name quiet a few 'leaders' who would be first rate captains like Crowley or Murphy, Geaney etc even Morley even though he only a relative new comer has shown leadership qualities - personally i'd be digging for Crowley think he is a natural leader - I rem few years back South Kerry won the C'ship and Skellig won the South C'ship so they had choice of captain they nominated Hickey the centre back ok on the panel but a fringe second choice was Sheehan then Declan - I think eventually Declan was the man farcical.

What's th3 thoughts on it - on another matter up to 8 new players drafted in by all accounts I wonder who is gone besides Sheehan & Lynn?

Well we did ok the last time he was captain I suppose. You are correct though, naming the captain from the county champions should be a thing of the past. Fionn will do very well to get a starting place next year and I am not sure Buckley would be nailed on at this stage either. We could be looking at a newcomer like Murphy or white if they make the team in that case, which would be a bit of a farce.

I would strongly favour continuity, let the most deserving player have it, or let the players themselves pick the captain.

Well lads, just want to wish you and yours a very happy Christmas and all the best for 2018! It's been great debating and discussing all things Kerry GAA the past year and even though we came up short in 2017, hope springs eternal. If anyone is to be the rock on which this acursed blue wave crashes on, it will surely be the Kingdom! !

Have you any idea of a squad horse? I take it if the An Gaeltacht boys beat Moy none of them would be available for the first 2/3 rounds.

I'd love to see ronan Shanahan and Kevin Mac get another run, also we should probably attack more coz in fairness even with 12 men behind the ball we still can't defend worth a shit so hopefully we'll play to our strength.

What team would you pick your self?

I've a 15 posted 2 pages back -in see that Donegal are missing Murphy and one of the McGee brothers for our clash considering this and the home tie we should start here with 2 points

Horse that's a good team you picked although I'd probably swap Crowley and Morley as I've never seen Crowley play fullback.

That's strange that Murphy is out for the league opener is he injured?

We need to win our home games against Donegal Kildare and Galway as we have very hard away games against Tyrone Monaghan dubs and mayo.
