Ah I used have friends in high places so always got in (the mother used work across the road so knew all the bouncers!)

Here lads what do you make of the report in the Examiner today that the CB are thinking of pushing the Co. Championships back till Sept and running them off in an 8 week block. So much for April being used for club action!!

It was never realistic to have April as a Club month with the Championship starting in May. How are the Kerry team for example supposed to prepare for the Munster Championship if all the players are with their clubs in weeks preceding it meaning they can't train together?

I'm not saying it's right or wrong to push it back to September, just that it's not workable as things stand to have April as a Club month. The GAA have been very clever in paying lip service to the clubs by giving them April, and subsequently letting the individual CB's figure out for themselves that it can't work.

Horse
that's great news if it's true and hopefully 3/4 more will retire with them , and they know who they are.

The hermit
I hope that article isn't true, all our intercounty footballers need to get back to their clubs in April and we could at least get 2 rounds of county championship played, but sure I suppose players will be "injured " and be unavailable, the same crap as usual.

Don't know a whole lot about him Gerry, but you're happy anyway? He's a serious operator?

He was the physical trainer with Clare when they won the All Ireland in 2013, and he is very well regarded in GAA circles. He is also a lecturer in Tralee and an expert in sports science. I think this could be a big improvement. We were badly off the pace this year so hopefully a new approach to fitness and conditioning will begin to address that.

That was a seriously fit side Clare had in 2013. If he can get the Kerry boys up to that level, we should see a big improvement. I think your right, we just haven't been at the same level as Dublin and Mayo in terms of physicality or fitness over the last 2-3 years. It has really cost us in the two semi-final defeats in 2016 and last August,

Joe is going to be working with all the Kerry teams from development squads to to minor U20s to juniors and senior as far as I know which is good news as not all players should have to do the same same programs.

It's a step in the right direction and with gods help in the coming years this will bare fruit.

lads this is the best possible appointment to the senior set up that we could have wished for. O'Conner has a serious serious CV, highly qualified, lectures, runs a GYM, trained strand road or a bit, thin Crokes too, I rem him doing a bit with Pats about 10 years ago when under Gary McGrath. Intercounty wise was with Clare hurlers with Davey, those two are will joined since on Ireland Fittest family,. but apart from Clare had stints with Limerick up to last year, put it this way in the years that Limerick and Clare were hitting Croker in September those years Joe as at the helm fitness wise.

This is a serious coup by the county board and one that indicates that we mean business for the coming year...

Well if they don't mean business now after seeing Dublin race ahead over the past three years they might as well shake their hat at it.

The only place a Kerry team should be is on top, if your second your nothing.

Ireland weren't up to much in Adelaide yesterday morning, only for McManus we would have been well beat. Murphy did ok but Geaney had a poor game and one of his attempts at a free was woeful!

Jays I saw it and it was desperate hard to watch the hermit, I won't be watching the second game and that's for sure.

Watched it too michael Murphy and McManus were very good inside but the Aussies didn't seem bothered about marking them and just backed themselves to score more than us, which they did.

What a player that Matt fyfe is, would nearly watch the second test to see him again. It was a poor show overall though.

Aye, he is a fine athlete and that was a sweet goal he got for the Aussies

Your right lads, it's terrible hard watching. Too stop/start and no real intensity or rhythm to it. I know they had to dial back on the over physicality of a decade ago but I think they've ended up ruining it now by making it so sedate. You want to see a bit of physicality, niggle and passion.

I detest the game and have often used the exact same term used by Marc a bastardised game ' my phone was hopping with 'friends' sending me the link to the article but ys I'm sorry have no time for it and didn't watch a minute of it even though I wasn't in bed loby at 5 am when the ball was thrown in.

I see Buckley was outstanding yesterday it frustrates the head off me how Croker players can consistently star for Crokes through the years and not make the step up to Kerry level think back ok Buckley kieran o leary Casey back through the years Noel O'Leary Rowan Neher Liam Harnett The O'shea's etc anywsy will be a right battle with Nemo but you would have to fancy Croker - we'll done too to an Gaelacht - looks like Darragh Cinneide along with Paul Quinn is finding his feet

If all comes to all and An Gealteacht beat st senans from limerick in the Munster final and Moy win the intermediate Ulster championship then An Gealteacht and Moy would play each other and you'd have Marc o'se Marking Sean cavanagh .

And ya horse the crokes are annoying like that all right let's hope gavin white and burns buck that trend.

Hey everyone just wondering how many of you on here have the season ticket. I had it for a couple of years when it first came out, but didn't feel it offered enough value and didn't like the restrictions on where you had to sit as I'd always be a terrace man in most grounds. But I'm after seeing that there is a new one option, whereby it costs €200 but you are guaranteed an AI ticket if your county gets that far and that also seems to be regardless of your attendance record at games. Anyone else see this?
