Looking forward to the game next week big time. Cornerback1977 (Cork) - Posts: 67 - 03/08/2017 20:03:15 2028588 Link 0 |
No offence intended pal but I hope Deise turn you over purely because I'd like to see the winner of Liam come from outside the big 3. I don't think they will, though. I think it might end up similar to your match v Clare. Reasonably close but with the result never seriously in doubt.

When Cork played Waterford the last time Waterford went in to the game as favourites now it is the other way round Cork must now be the favourites and no team wants to be ranked as the favourites Redhot (Cork) - Posts: 739 - 05/08/2017 12:34:39 2029242 Link 0 |
What ever way it goes hopefully it is good game. Though neighbourly rivals its is a respectful one, both players and fans. Prediction that it will not reassembly the msf in anyway and Waterford to win comfortable. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 2978 - 05/08/2017 14:25:29 2029277 Link 0 |
cant see this game being anything like the munster semi final...we still had the element of surprise vs waterford in the semi, it was also a hot hot day which may have played a part in this game also..Austin Gleeson was non existant vs cork the last day and i cant see that happening again,,in the games vs tipp, waterford and clare i just feel like their performances were very flat against us..whether that was cork outperforming them or just being early in the season i cant judge..de burca is a big loss and to be fair he should not be suspended as i feel the suspension and indeed red was very harsh on him..this cork team have done us very proud this season and whatever happens this year has been a great success for cork hurling..i just cannot call this game at this moment..waterford are well used to all ireland semis while this cork team are full of young lads who have barely played a game in croke park...having said that the more senior lads will want to amend the result vs tipp in 2014..so im going to go with heart over head and say cork will win this semi pidge (Cork) - Posts: 543 - 05/08/2017 21:00:04 2029453 Link 0 |
I would love it love it if Waterford win Sunday, I can't help it I'll always have a soft spot for the Waterford senior hurling team from Big Dan to Maurice to Mullane (i's love my county) to Austin Glesson (potentially the greatest hurler of all time) I just love something about Waterford hurling team. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 08/08/2017 18:57:51 2031244 Link 2 |
I've seen both Waterford and Galway win All Ireland. Nothing special. Seeing Cork win is much better, so wave the red and white flags next Sunday. Rockies (Cork) - Posts: 947 - 08/08/2017 21:33:21 2031315 Link 1 |
Cork haven't won it since 2005 which is a long time for Cork.Don't think they'll win it this year.I think this is Galway's year.

Galway certainly are the form team, and were excellent thus far. I wouldn't begrudge Joe Canning his medal. Waterford and Cork is hard to call. I don't think there is much between the teams All Ireland finals are difficult to predict. Cork beat favourites Galway in 1990, and Kilkenny in 1966. Kilkenny beat fancied Cork in 1982. Looking forward to exciting finale to hurling championship. Rockies (Cork) - Posts: 947 - 08/08/2017 22:42:27 2031358 Link 0 |
Up til this year, people always said Galway lacked consistency e.g. which Galway will turn up on the day? Galway have dispelled that myth this year. If someone is to beat them it won't be because Galway have underperformed on the day.

I think Waterford will win last year they should have beaten KK twice!! WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 09/08/2017 00:27:11 2031402 Link 0 |
+1 That pretty much sum'so up how I feel also. Just something about Waterford hurling I admire also and all the entertaining games the Deise Legends gave us. InishowenMan (Donegal) - Posts: 216 - 09/08/2017 00:33:25 2031403 Link 0 |
A very difficult game to call. At the start of the championship Waterford looked to be in much better shape to Cork but Cork started well and continue to improve. Tradition is a powerful thing and as ever no team thrives on some confidence like a Cork hurling side. Waterford have been inconsistent but they are hugely talented and Sunday could well be the day it all comes together. It promises to be another great day for hurling fans. Head says Cork but will keep my money in my pocket for the rest of the year! Cork have been the best team in the country since the Tipp game but Waterford are more experienced. The general consensus seems to be that the two best teams played last weekend but I'll stick to my prediction and say the winners of the All Ireland will come from this game. Cork have played the best hurling and most enjoyable to watch this year and i'll go with them to shade it. Although I had a hefty each way bet on Waterford this time last year so I'll be shouting for them! tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 09/08/2017 15:35:12 2031637 Link 0 |
Hope springs eternal waterford have hope but not much else. People that are tipping waterford must be on the wacky backy. Cork have beaten them already why should sunday be any different. Cork to win by 5 with King conor given gleeson another lesson in hurling in doing so bagging the motm award again. blackrockeddie (Cork) - Posts: 160 - 10/08/2017 00:04:44 2031811 Link 0 |
I would love to see Waterfod win on Sunday, and give us a unique final v Galway. It would be great for neutrals. thelongridge (Offaly) - Posts: 1879 - 10/08/2017 12:26:17 2031943 Link 0 |
As much as I'd absolutely love to see Waterford win an all ireland I think a cork/glaway final would make for a better game. Bon (Kildare) - Posts: 2192 - 10/08/2017 14:05:00 2031985 Link 0 |
