July 1 – A record 333 boys and girls take part in the Summer Camp in Somerton. Thirty-five coaches under the supervision of Games Promotion Officer Maria Bergin provide buckets of fun in the sun. An added bonus was the visit of Ciarán Kilkenny. The AHL9 hurlers go joint top of Div.9 with a 4-10 4-7 win away to Erin’s Isle.

July 2 – In Div.1 of the U-13 Hurling League Castleknock lose a high scoring game to St. Jude’s 1-13 6-7 while the U-14 Footballers Div.7 lose to a strong Clontarf side.

July 3 – The Ladies Football Adult Cup 5N side beat St. Monica’s 2-11 1-3 in Edenmore to make it 4 wins out of 5 and stay joint top of the table with. The Adult Cup Div.2 team receive a walk-over from Skerries to maintain their unbeaten record of 5 wins from 5.

July 4 – The theme for Week 4 of our OneGoodClub Initiative is Give and as part of that a group of teenagers from the Club visited the Mount Hybla Nursing Home on White’s Road to entertain residents. Emily Igoe, Ava Santa Maria, Dearbhla Quinn, Caoimhe Sawyer, Tomás ‘Mossie’ O’Ceallaigh, Orlaith Higgins and even organiser Barbara O’Neill provided music, song and Irish Dancing as a means of giving to the local community. Thanks to everyone involved. The AHL9 hurlers second game of the week sees a Hugh Hogan last minute goal give Castleknock a deserved draw (2-15 2-15) against St. Finian’s, Swords. No Lotto Jackpot winner. Match 3 Winners €60 each – Gerry Sheerin, Colm Cosgrave, Ciaran Maher, M. Doyle, ‘Chloe’. Next Jackpot €5,400.

July 6 – In spite of Luke Swan’s 1-1 Dublin lose the LMFC Final AET. Everyone in the Club sends their best wishes to Senan Forker who was injured during the game. Senan we all wish you a speedy recovery. A high intensity victory in the AFL2 1-22 1-12 against Lusk keeps Castleknock top of Division 2. Dublin U-14 Camogie involvement for Saoirse Behan and Eimear Sutton and Dublin U-14 Football involvement for David Strappe, Callum Sheridan, Conan Feeney and Bobby Lynch. Proud of you all.

July 7 – Solid 2-12 0-8 win for MHL3 Hurlers over Naomh Fionnbarra including a super-sized point from Finn McAllorum. Great to see Emma Diamond, Eabha Mooney, Aisling O’Neill, Aoife O’Sullivan, Lucy Quinn and Mollie Turner in the Dublin U-16 Camogie panel for their game against Clare in the All-Ireland Championship.

Upcoming: Registration is now open online for our internal All-Ireland Leagues (Aug. 5-11). Six tournaments from U7-U12 for girls and boys. Registration closes July 14th. See website or contact Neil Devlin 086-1004301.

The Club extends its sympathy to the Farrell family on the passing of Gerry, father of Niall and grandfather of Oran, a member of Castleknock and Dublin Minor Football teams. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
