Kilkenny dominated from start to finish as they saw off Dublin by 3-28 to 1-18 at Croke Park to claim a fifth Leinster senior hurling championship title in-a-row.

After Eoin Cody found Dublin’s net just three minutes into this provincial decider, the Cats went on to make the capital men pay for their mistakes over the next half-hour or so to take in a commanding 2-18 to 0-9 lead at the half.

TJ Reid bagged his team’s second goal in the 23rd minute after Dublin ‘keeper Sean Brennan had dropped the sliotar right in the opposition talisman’s path.

The trailers pucked over points from Donal Burke (2) and John Bellew early in the restart to take some tarnish off the scoreboard, but the holders got motoring again with points via John Donnelly, Eoin Cody and ‘Man of the Match’ Adrian Mullen before Reid smashed in their third goal in the 57th minute.

Mark Grogan did pull back a goal for Dublin late on, however it was only consolation for them in the end as the Cats triumphed to Leinster SHC title number 76 at HQ.
