Naomh Fionnbarra have released a statement following an alleged assault on an umpire which led to the abandonment of a Dublin minor hurling league match against Clanna Gael Fontenoy last Sunday.
The umpire was treated for injuries by medics, while Gardaí were also called to the scene at Sean Moore Park in Sandymount. In the statement, Naomh Fionnbarra claim that the two adults involved in a row after the game was abandoned by the referee early in the second half were not members of the club.
The statement added that as the matter is now under investigation, no further comment will be made at this time.
