A period of dominance at the start of the second half was pivotal to St Jude's 1-17 to 1-10 victory against Skerries Harps in today's Dublin SFC quarter-final curtain-raiser at Parnell Park.
Skerries Harps were level on 0-6 each at half-time before an unanswered 1-5 from the raging hot favourites during the third quarter opened up an eight-point gap (1-11 to 0-6). Dublin All-Ireland winner Kevin McManamon, the scorer of 1-5, supplied the Jude's goal.

Skerries responded with three successive points and Killian McGinnis' goal threw them a lifeline with six minutes of normal time remaining, 1-13 to 1-9. But Tom Devlin and Diarmaid McLoughlin kept the scoreboard ticking over for Jude's as Skerries had two more clear goal chances that went a begging in the closing stages.
St Vincent's and Kilmacud Crokes are in action at 5.30pm.
