Kilcar have lodged an objection to the Donegal Competitions’ Controls Committee (CCC) against their county SFC final defeat to holders Naomh Conaill last Saturday.

After an eleven month delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the sides finally met in the 2020 decider, with Naomh Conaill eventually coming out on top 4-2 in penalties.

However, according to local reports, the Townley-based club submitted an objection over Naomh Conaill's alleged use of four substitutes during extra-time at MacCumhaill Park.

The GAA rulebook states that only three substitutes are allowed in extra-time with five in normal-time.

Kilcar GAA tweeted this evening: "CLG Chill Chartha wish to confirm that we have lodged an objection to the CCC in regards to Saturdays senior county final, no further statements will be made at this time."
