Easter weekend will be a busy one for our underage players and coaches
On Saturday our U6s begin their season of GAA FUNdamentals. 10-11am in Kilmacrennan NS is the venue for all boys and girls born in 2012 and 2013. Children will be indoors so runners are essential and after that all we need is as many boys and girls as possible. Bring your child along and let them try it out. Any queries to John Mc Cafferty 086 6044486. At the same time on Saturday our U8 boys and girls will have coaching on the Astro pitch also at Kilmacrennan NS, please note the change of venue. Our U10 boys and girls will then have their coaching also on the Astro at Kilmacrennan NS from 11am -12noon. Children should have warm clothing, gloves, their own water and a gum shield which is compulsory. Again new players are always welcome to any of these age groups. Anyone who has not yet registered their child will be able to do so on Saturday morning at these coaching sessions from 10.30 - 11.30. Any queries to any of our coaches Daireann Gibson, Liam Cunningham or Jim Bonner or any committee member, or leave a message on our FB page
Our U12s are due get their league season underway next Wednesday evening with a home game Vs Cloughaneely although there may be an issue with another game being scheduled on The Burn Road. Details will be confirmed over the weekend. The boys had their first game of the season on Monday with Letterkenny Gaels our hosts. The boys played well and it was a fantastic workout with many playing their first game at the level. Thanks to Letterkenny Gaels for the game and for the players!
Coaching for U14 boys continues tonight (Tuesday) in Illistrin. Any parent who's son has not yet been to any of the training but does intend to play are asked to contact Paddy McMenamin or Hugh Harkin asap so that we know how many players we will have for the season. The coaches are hoping to play a challenge game on Monday and Friday next, parents will receive info in the next few days.
Our U16 boys have a busy week ahead. Tomorrow eve they play Mc Cumhaills at the Burn Road, throw in 5.30pm. On Friday they travel to Gaoth Dobhair for a 12 noon throw in and then this Sunday at 12 noon they will play Milford in Milford. A tough schedule but hopefully the hard work done in Gartland in recent weeks will stand to the boys. Good luck boys in what is a crucial 5 days of their league campaign
Hard luck to our representatives on both the St Eunans and the Coaliste Ailaigh teams in their respective heartbreaking final defeats at the weekend
