A late goal from Shane McGrogan steered Newbridge to a 1-7 to 1-4 victory over Magherafelt last night and into the Derry senior football championship final.
The sides had been level in the last minute of normal time when a long ball into the Magherafelt square was flicked in by McGrogan.
A Ryan Ferris goal after 10 minutes helped the 2019 champions to lead by 1-1 to 0-3 at the half and they’d be up by two with 12 minutes left in the game thanks to a superb Shane Heavron point.
Two points from Oisin Doherty (one a free) squared things up before for the Sean O’Learys before Grogan provided the winning touch (watch it below) that sees his club into a first SFC decider since 1991.
