Replying To royaldunne: "I knew very little about the 68 loss. But I remember 82 in cusack park like it was yesterday." You don't remember it that well. That game was in Tullamore's O'Conner Park

Greatest Football Q-Final Ever? - 2 Like(s)
Replying To royaldunne: "For me personally has to be Meath v Westmeath . Who can forget dessie Dolans last kick from little over 20mt line straight in front of goal, and he hits it wide, 120 years of pain was on my shoulders everything went blank I kicked the ball totally wrong, and it just went wide, dessie words.
Coming through kinnegad on way home, car bedecked in Meath colours was one of the most adrenaline journeys of my life ,into work next morning and I was spotted by a co worker with my Meath jersey off swinging it over my head after the miss, he wasn't impressed, I didn't give a rats behind :). Then the replay in portlaoise the missed penalty by dessie and within 1 minute the goal by Joe, ahh what fun. My god it was fantastic." That game was a Leinster 2nd round clash

Strangest Refereeing Decision Ever?? - 1 Like(s)
Replying To royaldunne: "No you are correct he was going to award the penalty as Joe was dragged (by more than one player) in the square . He let advantage though (which wasn't in rules at time) but common sense refs often let advantage occur. Pity he didn't just award the penalty." Its a pity he didnt award a free out out against Seamus Kenny for being in the square before the ball

Replying To OntheWhiteSide: "I don't know what makes you believe that 31 counties are against Meath, maybe one or two but not all 31. Now if it was a Dublin poster making that claim I would say maybe yea. So get that chip off your shoulder and go out and win and you'll see that I'm right." I have no chip

Meath V Tyrone - 1 Like(s)
Replying To Furlong1949: "If Meath did beat Tyrone it would be a massive result for Meath football and leinster football in general Why?
1 If Meath were to beat Tyrone it would Meath biggest win in the championship since the 5 goal hammering of Dublin in 2010 or Mayo in 2009. Meaths best result in this decade and in last 10 years.
2 If Meath were to beat Tyrone it would be one of the best victories for leinster team outide Dublin outside the provience in the championship in nearly two decades.
Why? In this decade only 1 team in leinster besides Dublin have beaten a top division 1 team , a top 5 or 6 team in the country and that was longford beating Monaghan in 2016. Since 2000 only 4 times have leinster teams outside Dublin have beaten top division 1 teams in the championship outside the provience. Those victories v top division 1 teams since 2000 are Meath v kerry in 2001, Meath v Tyrone in 2007, Laois v Tyrone in 2004 and longford v Monaghan in 2016. Thats it. Meath did beat Galway in the championship in 07 and 11 but Galway in 07 and 11 were not a top division 1 team. Meath defeated Mayo in 2009 and longford defeated Mayo in 2010 in the championship but Mayo were in transition and the current Mayo team didnt take off til 2011 2012.
The fact is outside Dublin leinster teams have only beaten top opposition (division 1 top 5 or 6 teams outside leinster ) 4 times in near two decades. A Meath victory v Tyrone would be the fifth victory in 18 years. Tyrone are a top 8 team and in every ranking I have seen in the internet or papers in the last 3 years they have been in the top 4 or 5 teams in the country. They are double Ulster champions so a Meath victory would be significant for Meath football but also a very significant result for leinster football." IWestmeath beat Mayo in 2001

Replying To the_walls: "I'd be amazed if Kerry don't win but they do need to guard against complacency. It isn't totally outside the realms of possibility that Mayo beat Donegal by a point and Meath beat Kerry by 3 points. In such a scenario Kerry are out." Yes it is
