Plenty of young lads are still in the states or just back (and lacking proper match fitness) So I wouldn't be worrying about that just yet. Anyway hardly a major shock, one of the greatest footballers in the history of the game is still great at club level at 37.

We have as good as a 15 as anyone in the country. Our bench is the problem. I'm hoping the young four masters lads everyone raves about make it through next year. We badly need it."
You do need to top level players that can take on and beat their man at Inter-County level, stand out marquee players. We do have a a good number of top level quality players, but there hasn't been many attacking players breaking through in the last 4-5 years and that is worrying.
To challenge for All Ireland titles, we need be constantly bring though top level players, and lately it feels like not the case. I hope I am proved wrong, I really do mean that, just a bit worried at the moment.
