Look, we got to the final and were beaten by 1 point by a very good team. Antrim drew with Donegal and were beaten by Armagh by a couple of points in the UFC. They then beat Laois well in the semi final of the tier 3. This was always going to be a tough game. Sport is cruel sometimes and we very nearly made it. I say well done to all the panel.

I would expect a win for our lads. I have just seen the team. Carlin is obviously suspended. Other than that, it's along expected lines. In all honesty, it is hard to get too excited about this tournament now, given the calibre of some of the counties left in it. It's hard to see our guys rising to last years semi final stage, given their displays since the start of the league. Best of luck to them tomorrow evening.

Best of luck to the Wicklow senior footballers against Tipperary tomorrow evening in Aughrim. I think being drawn at home gives the team a great chance to progress to the next round of the Tailteann cup. As we've witnessed last season and this, it is hard to predict what version of this team will show up on any given day so predicting them winning with certainty is foolhardy. I think if the team can maintain their scoring rate and stop allowing their concentration to lapse then I think they can beat Tipperary. It would be great if we could win the Tailteann cup as it would propel the team into next season's All Ireland series. I'm unsure if this squad is capable of actually winning the competition as I don't think we are at that level but the goal should be to win the competition just as promotion out of division four should be our first priority every year.

Sorry. I missed Johnny in the hall forward line. He was one of our best forwards 2 yrs ago.

Hoping for a win on Saturday, no reason if we play upto our potential we shouldn't win

Getting Tipperary in Aughrim was not a bad draw at all. They're probably saying the same about drawing Wicklow, but I think we have reason to be the happier of the two teams with the draw.

Tricky wind today in Aughrim. Played against wind in first half and to be losing by one point at half-time put team in a good position to go on and win the game which they duly did. Delighted we are through to next round. Still think our players need to convert the chances being created especially our forwards. Plus I'd like to see a free-taking outfield player to backup Jackson. Looking forward to draw on Mondsy morming to see whom we play in next round.

Fermanagh, Antrim or Offaly away is our fate in the Quarter Finals.

I was at the game today. Very slowly and methodical for the first 45 mins. We took an early 1-1 0-0 lead, then allowed Tipp tale a 0-9 to 1-3 lead after 46 minutes. The player for me who changed the match at first was Eoin Darcy. Then Kevin Quinn. Then the introduction of Mark Kenny. These lads opened up the game. Tipp won a lot of possession around the midfield kickouts, but had very few scores in them. You always had the feeling Wicklow would eventually break them. Got there in the end.

I think Down and Offay are favourites as they both played in division two this season. For this reason I hope we avoid Offaly in the draw as they've already beaten Down at home. I'd prefer Fermanagh if I could choose. You're right, by my reckoning, we scored 1-1 within first 6-7 minutes and only scored 2 points in the next 30 minutes or so. I know the style of play was to counter the wind and it worked. Kevin Quinn's two scores in the second half: one with his right foot and one woth his left foot were decisive and pure class. Next game will be a test as all this team's best results and performances have been at home except against Carlow away. Team needs to play to a high standard away from Aughrim if they are to win this competition.

Wicklow will travel to Antrim in the next round of the Tailteann Cup. Firstly, it is encouraging to see Wicklow getting to the latter stages of this competition especially as there is more talk about introducing a third tier competition. I don't understand why there is an obsession with introducing a third tier and I certainly don't want Wicklow to be in any such competition. I think this is the third consecutive year Wicklow have reached the quarter final in the Tailteann cup. Hopefully we can match last year's progress when we reached the semi-final of the competition. If Wicklow are to reach the semi-final they'll need to beat Antrim away which is something our footballers have struggled to do in recent years. Back in February of this year; we lost to Antrim by seven points. Final score Antrim 2-18 - Wicklow 1-14. Is this team in better form than in February and can this team turn around a seven-point defeat and win up there? If we are to win up there then we need Kevin Quinn, Eoin Darcy and others playing to their maximum. Watching the game on Sunday, I think three of our forwards are definite starters: Eoin Darcy, Kevin Quinn and Padraig O'Toole. I think John Carlin is also a starting forward. Based upon the game plan I think Oisin wants Christopher O'Brien to starting but I'd be tempted to start both Mark Kenny and OIsin McGraynor. I think if we are to win in Antrim then we'll need to produce a big performance and I think our forwards might be the key to such a victory. Best of luck to players and management next weekend.

It will not be easy but I would rather be playing Antrim rather than Offaly.

My predictions for the matches :

Fermanagh v Sligo - Fermanagh

Laois v Down - Laois

Offaly v Wexford - Offaly

Antrim v Wicklow - Wicklow

I agree with you. Offaly in Tullamore is the most difficult tie we could've gotten as it is away and Offaly have beaten Down there in this competition. In my opinion, the two division two teams: Offaly and Down are favourites for the competition. In fact, Down are extremely unlucky not to be playing in the All-Ireland championship after beating Donegal in the Ulster championship. They've already won this competition and I think their goals are higher than the Tailteann Cup but Offaly will be aiming to win the competition after playing in division two even though they lost all their league games. Hopefully we can overcome Antrim away and get a crack at reaching the final and putting the ghost of last year's semi-final to bed. That was a game we should've won.

I think bith Wicklow and Antrim will be happy with the draw and both sets of supporters will be confident of winning the game. I was happy with the performance on Saturday evening, the lads showed a good level of control and hopefully the confidence gained will help on the weekend. Having said that Antrim have bounced back very well from a poor start to the league. Anyone's game, home advantage might swing it, but if we play like we did v Carlow in Leinster we will be hard to stop!
