Mighty Gaa coverage and build up to the Connacht final in todays Roscommon Herald. Fair play to Ian Cooney and all his team in the sports department who have obviously being burning the midnight oil.
Hopefully we will pack out the Hyde with primrose and blue this Sunday and help drive the team home.

Best of luck to the minors in the Connacht final this Friday night in Tuam against Galway. I expect them to win.

The powers to be have decided to moved the All-Ireland U20 Semi-final to Wednesday night May 13th in Semple Stadium with a 7.30pm. Not played on the original date Saturday the 9th because Kerry was granted the request to move in back because Tomas Kennedy will be involved with the Seniors on Sunday.

It will give Roscommon players more time to recover from the extra time in Tuam I suppose. Not to forget that a Roscommon man is probably the most powerful figure in the gaa when it comes to fixture and competition scheduling.

More time to recover yes when it was clear it wasn't going ahead Saturday as Thomas O'Se got to work on that straight after the Munster final.

More than a Roscommon man involded. There is a list committee members overseeing the possible options on when and where fixtures are fixture are set.

Next up no doubt our U17s All-Ireland quarter-final against Ulster opposition will be played in a Ulster venue

Are you even from mayo..

Team news probably out this evening if we were to start our strongest team It would probably be
C Carroll
P Gavin
B Stack
E McCormick
c Neary/R Fallon
R Daly
S Lamb
K Doyle
C Ryan
D Ruanne
E Smith
D Henaghan
D Murtagh
D Cregg
R Henaghan (who gives great balance in the forward line)

It's a tough job for mark to pick a team with the likes of ward keogh Neary playing so well against mayo and the likes of frost cox McKeon harney all back fit now. And Conor Hand I'm sure is really pushing for a start to.
I think we will see two changes to the team that started the mayo game. Cregg and Fallon to both start but for who I don't know

A huge game for Roscommon football. We haven't won a senior Connacht title in The Hyde since 2001 and we haven't beaten Galway in the championship in The Hyde since 1990. Best of luck to the Roscommon team and management on Sunday afternoon.

Galway have announced a strong and very experienced team for Sunday. The bookies have them favourites but I fancy us to win a close contest if we play well. 1 point win will do.

GALWAY TEAM
C. Flaherty
J. McGrath, S. Kelly, J. Glynn.
D. McHugh, j. Daly, L.Silk.
P.Conroy, J Maher.
D.O'Flaherty, C. McDaid, C. Darcy.
R.Finnerty, S.Walsh, L.O'Conghaile.
Subs include M. Tierney & D. Comer.

Interesting to see our team and substitute bench as well, which will also be very strong. Should be some game.

Before then best of luck to out U17 Footballers in Tuam tonight in the Connacht final.

All true statements, but the future looks very bright at the moment with the pool of talent coming through.
We have a very realistic opportunity to do the Connacht triple (senior, under 20's, minor) this weekend for the first time ever.
All the best to the minors tonight, the seniors on Sunday and the under 20's against Kerry in Thurles next Wednesday.

Heady times indeed for Ros football.
Are the young Lochinvars ready to dethrone the hardy oul warriors?
I hope so but might take another year.. .

Strong team and bench where D. Cregg, R. Stack and R. Fallon were always expected to return if fit.
Shows the improved strength of the panel when C. Lennon, U. Harney and E. Colleran can't even make the 26 players named. Not easy for Mark Dowd to communicate that news to the three lads and several others. But strong competition is what is needed if you want to dine at the top table.
