Pearses really blew that game. One point up while playing with a very strong wind and the time nearly up, they had two or three chances by various players to tap the ball over the bar from 14-21 yards but went for the goal instead. Brian Stack proved his leadership once again and was man of the match for me. Some good two point scores taken by both both teams. I would say that it is 50 - 50 for the reply and Pearses certainly won't be 3-1 next time. They won't be 50-1 the club All Ireland either, but have they missed their chance? letsgetgoing (Roscommon) - Posts: 812 - 26/10/2025 16:02:53 2641690Link 0
Today proved the odds was wrong showing there is nothing between Pearses Brigids. One chap on here had himself convinced Brigids would win by 8 points. Can make a case Pearses blew it but Brigids was 6 ahead and Pearses fought their way back into the game. My money would be on Pearses in extra time if you had it today so Brigids will be relieved to fight another day. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 591 - 26/10/2025 19:01:39 2641728Link 0

Yes, Pearses will run their missed chances. They definitely had the opportunity to kick on but they lacked a bit of a killer instinct to kill the game off in the second half. Also showed how good a team Brigids are when they went down to 14 for 10 mins at the start of the second yet they still managed 1-2 I think. Was a great game for the neutral and I was glad that I'll get another day out for the replay. Was very impressed with Caelim Keogh and Canning for Pearses. Brigids had men that stood up in different parts of the game but hard to pinpoint someone who was excellent over the 60 mins. Well done to both teams and hopefully the replay is equally as exciting on Saturday ComainRos (Roscommon) - Posts: 155 - 26/10/2025 19:14:32 2641732Link 0

Ssshhhh we're not allowed talk about that. You can't criticise the big clubs. Kilbride wouldn't be relegated either if their best player didn't go to the Gaels. You're dead right though. One positive though is that his lockouts were unreal and surely they'll be better utilised with new Roscommon management Ros2013 (Roscommon) - Posts: 571 - 27/10/2025 09:48:00 2641791Link 0

Only people behind that goal was teens and children and given the amount of years you are posting on here you aren't a child or teen. It drifted wide at the very end, Careys own reaction was telling also. The_analyser (Roscommon) - Posts: 4192 - 27/10/2025 14:42:29 2641845Link 1

Very exciting finish yesterday. Game probably suffered slightly with the wind which wasn't far off last year's final. Stack was immense as was Conor Carroll. Pearses should have held out at the end. I think if pearses start better they could edge it next week. RossieFan1980 (Roscommon) - Posts: 6 - 27/10/2025 17:09:59 2641883Link 0

| Very good job by getting Sherlock on board. A winner as a player and also as a coach with Dublin. Westmeath were very competitive in championship when dolan was over them so hopefully Sherlock can bring a massive energy next year to this team. No excuses now for Roscommon not to try make some progress. Some very talented young footballers coming through as well.
