The refs. And I abuse plenty of them, but I still respect them. Without them our games can't go ahead.

Why do you post this every now and again? Very strange

Was reading somewhere else that although the pitch is getting some work done, that the majority of the work being carried out in McCumhaill Park are to the facilities, and that it will be ready for next year. Thank God for that.

There's really no that much wrong with the pitch, it just needs to be levelled in places. The facilities do need an upgrade though. It's a pity we can't just have one very venue. ThroughTheGap (Donegal) - Posts: 74 - 24/07/2025 10:11:25 2627603 Link 0 |
Hi greenfan: Yes most clubs seem to be saying the same thing. So the question is where have all the good tickets gone?

Getting 350 tickets and still moaning!! Biggest Clubs in Cork got 44. You are of course free to give it back and let a less fussy person have the ticket. Seanfan (Roscommon) - Posts: 9 - 24/07/2025 11:10:59 2627631 Link 0 |
Just because another county does it worse doesn't mean questions can't be asked. My two cents - counties like Dublin, Donegal, Kerry, Galway, Cork, Mayo, Limerick shouldn't get an allocation of tickets per club when not competing in final. The idea of two tickets per club is great for smaller counties than are unlikely to reach a final in either code. Of course number of club members per county varies, but something along the lines where the amount of finals the county has played in previous five seasons reduces the allocation by a percentage. Spare me with the stories of grandfathers who've been to 50 finals in a row. Lucky them! SurelyToGod (Donegal) - Posts: 486 - 24/07/2025 12:09:00 2627657 Link 0 |
Why have Donegal on that list, 17 counties have played in more football all-irelands than Donegal have.

who's moaning? I was just pointing out the facts, stating what clubs are saying, and raising a legitimate question about why more club members aren't seated in the lower tiers (especially elderly members or people who may not be very mobile).

Away from the tickets chat, do we think there will be anything different in terms of the starting 15? Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9923 - 24/07/2025 14:26:56 2627684 Link 0 |
If football and hurling together are counted Donegal are in 23rd place as regards finals played in, firmly one of the "also-rans"!

Better to focus on the here and now fella. Dublin footballers couldn't even make a semi this year never mind a final. peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1289 - 24/07/2025 15:36:42 2627707 Link 1 |
If he has trained welli think they'll look to start mcgonagle. If he's not at it enough then it will likely be the same team as started against meath. Mccolgan is the most likely to make way though that does remove a running and mccolgan does have we edge about him. It didn't really matter against Meath as they were not great but I did think he was missed quite a bit against Monaghan. There were a few scores than ohanlon and McCarthy got that think a fully fit mcgonagle would have covered off. They were also slow to take him off aganist Tyrone, even though he was limping. It shows what they think of him. On the other hand his injury didn't help with the goals conceded so he needs to be fit and at it. It's been a long week, hard to take the mind off Sunday. Brilliant to see the county decked in green and gold. Out of all the four all irelands we played in,I think the anticipation this time is huge. It might be the mc Guinness factor but I feel that Sunday is our day. Were a proud county, but proud of our team ,proud of where we come from. Great to hear all the songs. When our lads take the field on Sunday gave them the cheer they deserve . Were often called the forgotten county hopefully people will not forget us after Sunday. See yous all in Dublin. rorysboys (Donegal) - Posts: 2653 - 24/07/2025 16:13:45 2627717 Link 2 |
My 2 cents in tickets. I used to have a season ticket and the fans who travel up and down the country will or should have season tickets. I gave my season ticket up a few years ago as I got back more involved in club coaching, I didn't have the time to attend as many Mayo games. Again I've found those involved in playing or coaching and helping out are looked after in the clubs first. I've experienced many all Ireland final build ups and in my experience those who are real genuine fans always get looked after in the end. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11705 - 24/07/2025 16:17:39 2627720 Link 3 |
I really hope that the 15 players that's named to start will be starting. It's shocking to name a player for a game, especially an All Ireland and the player knowing well that he will be on the subs bench. The player has to accept all the good luck messages from family, friends and club mates and keep his mouth firmly shut.

Yes my man! Agree with you there. We need to make the ground shake shouting on the lads on Sunday. Win or lose, they've done us proud. Like you, I'm cautiously optimistic that we can do it. It will not be easy but these lads are primed and ready to deliver a big performance. Hopefully it'll be enough to beat Kerry. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9923 - 24/07/2025 16:24:29 2627723 Link 1 |
I thought Donegal only reached three All Ireland finals namely in 1992, 2012 and 2014 winning of course the first two finals. What was the fourth.
