Galway travelled because they had an away match. We travelled 3 hours to a supposedly neutral fixture. That's the difference

Well a 6 day turnaround and Monaghan it is again, the draw ensured there won't be 2 all Ulster semi finals anyway. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3287 - 23/06/2025 16:32:23 2620400 Link 0 |
He went over the top with his rant. It was pretty embarrassing. We don't always get a raw deal the way he was going on

Ah stop. Every pitch Jim mentioned was not available.

Roll on Saturday. Jimmy will have sleepless nights now, the 6 day turn around will occupy his head more than us. He can put the feet up for the winter after Saturday and the fans can start setting aside their €2 for next years travel farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 251 - 23/06/2025 16:39:23 2620405 Link 2 |

If it was played on Malin Head with Margo reffing Jim wouldn't be happy. TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 8455 - 23/06/2025 16:42:17 2620409 Link 1 |
Joking aside it's perfect for Jim again to build the us against the world mentality again. They will be fine as they had a home game against a Louth team with nothing left to give. Not saying it's right by the way just pointing out the 6 day turnaround will be ok in this instance. TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 8455 - 23/06/2025 16:45:05 2620410 Link 0 |
Have Westmeath anymore matches to play this year? Did I read correctly - they only won THREE games out of THIRTEEN this year???? That's a 23% win ratio. God that's pretty bleak don't ya think? No wonder they can sell tickets for their draw. Maybe you should go out and sell a few for them? peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1246 - 23/06/2025 16:47:19 2620411 Link 1 |
Your probably right, they didn't have to expend much energy yesterday as it transpired.

At least they will be able to watch the big match on Sunday, Armagh Vs Kerry.

I find it very strange that people from other counties come on to other counties forums to have a go at them. And ya wonder what must have happened..... gaeltacht81 (Donegal) - Posts: 22 - 23/06/2025 16:53:40 2620416 Link 3 |

Jim will sleep perfectly well all week. He's been there and done it before.

Sorry but very relevant to the current issue, if Donegal had beaten or drawn with Tyrone, there would be no Donegal issue regarding 6,7 or 8 day turn around.

Dont worry, we'll play the match . Bet you'd love to have a quarter final to play

I also don't think it bothers Jim as much as the Hyde did. His post-match stuff yesterday was saying how every manager would want 2 weeks in an ideal world, so I think he knew the 6 day turnaround was very very likely and made his peace with it unlike the Hyde which he obviously felt could have been sorted differently. I don't think the players will be too fussed either considering Shane O'Donnell's comments before the Louth match, and I'm sure they are all looking forward to getting a run in Croke Park regardless. Exciting day for Finbarr Roarty for example The only time we may see the turnaround come in to play is if it goes to extra time but to be honest I think that would be a factor anyway, Monaghan have had 2 weeks to rest up, so there would always be a fatigue element for us no matter if it's Saturday or Sunday. sure it's all a bit of craic anyway, think it's more of a logistical mess up from CCCC putting Tyrone and Donegal on the same day, whatever day that may be, the A5 is a nightmare at the best of times and then joining the Monaghan traffic. Yesterday we ran the bench, footballers would much rather play a game than train, it's the long journeys and overnight stays that takes a toll I think, Dublin always had the advantage of sleeping in their own beds before big games and they had their routine of playing at home in Croker, the six day turnaround in this case isn't so bad imo, we had a comfortable home victory and got Jason back and Oisin hitting form, hopefully McGonagle is nearing fitness also, things ae going well, just have to be ready cause Monaghan are going to be hard to beat. not so sure about that, they had no issue with Kerry and Meath playing in Tullamore while Offaly were playing in Kildare on the Saturday.
