Replying To Scenicparish:  "Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think it will be a tough match because the venue certainly favours Mayo.
You are very dependent on O Shea because if he plays well Mayo play well.
It will be a battle and it will be hard on both teams, if they get through, to recover for the following week."
Will be interesting to see what happens if the game is close or even level going down the home straight…if news comes through that Tyrone are winning well….im
Not suggesting either team will play for a draw but the drive or intensity might just drop a notch or two and it may be a case of sure a draw will do us both…?

You mean you hope Derry will win as you fear the Dubs.Do you not follow other games. We beat Galway in Pearse stadium just to let you know.

Yep, I very much enjoyed that game and the mighty dubs were impressive. They were equally unimpressive against Armagh on their home patch though. Fear the dubs? Sorry to disappoint you but you're living in the past young man.

Imagine being so distracted by Donegal that you spend more time on the Donegal thread than most Donegal posters. For all your seeming dislike of us, you seem to enjoy spending a lot of time on this thread. Why is that.

Yeah I can see that happening, if Tyrone are winning and we are level in our game then there's no need for either team to risk losing and we might as well settle for the draw.
We'll finish second whether we win or draw, I think the only way we win the group is if Cavan beat Tyrone and we beat Mayo.
Few quid on the draw not a bad move.

Absolutely not, we need to win the game. Winning is a habit.

Called a draw a week ago for this game a week ago have seen nothing since to change my mind.

The more I think of it, the more this game is primed for Mayo,

I'd be fairly sure Tyrone will do the business against Cavan.
So, if Mayo win they then top the group based on head-to-head.
But if they lose, they're out completely on the head-to-head.

They thrive on these do-or-die scenarios. But sooner or later, relying on that edge will bite them. Hoepfully it's us that can do the job on Sunday.

Agreed. Paddy Power have Mayo 7/2 to top the group and that looks an insane price.

Cavan haven't beaten Tyrone since 1983 and Donegal haven't beaten Mayo since 2012.

Mayo have not lost in The Hyde since 2001.

Obviously I hope I'm tearing up the docket on Sunday but couldn't resist a small wager at those odds.

I'll be pig sick if it wins or of course the worst scenario and Mayo win and Cavan win or draw v Tyrone.

Actually think that if we can't beat Mayo we'd be better out as we have no right to be in All Ireland contention after losing two games.

Don't think we will get beat, but will be a tight game and will be interesting to see who's lined out as it will have a big bearing on outcome, especially Patton.

So because I expressed an opinion saying that your stupid for saying if you can't beat Mayo no chance of winning Sam and I'm the one that needs to grow up and have respect ?!

There's been an arrogance coming fron Donegal ever since McGuiness came back

Not saying you will be a walk over at all but you are showing Mayo so much disrespect in general online and that .

Saying Paddy Durcan ' may need ' man marking as he's not bad eh he would walk onto any team .
I'm not the one who needs to grow up here.

Stop looking for a reason to be offended. People up here have the height of respect for Mayo but truthfully, this isn't as good a version of Mayo as years gone by. They are still very competitive and could well win on the weekend but do I think they can win Sam? No, I don't. I don't think they've the firepower and quality all over the park the way they did in the years of the narrow final defeats to Dublin. As for arrogance, no offence but that's pretty laughable. We are confident yes because we have an All Ireland winning manager back at the helm and we have 2 Ulster titles now in the last 2 years. Do I think we have much chance of winning Sam if we can't beat this current Mayo team? No. Is that disrespectful to Mayo, hardly. It's just a reflection of where most see Mayo in the current order of things. Maybe that will change after the weekend and you'll be hoping for Sam again. Paddy Durcan is a terrific player, relax. "So much disrespect" - serious hyperbole there man.

I never said 'if you can't beat Mayo no chance of winning sam" . That was someone else. I never said Paddy Duncan 'may need marking'. Get your facts straight before you go on a ridiculous rant and have a go at me.

Seriously, will you ever give it a rest. This is the Donegal gaa thread. I personally think Donegal are a better side man for man and should have the beating of this current Mayo team failing a total systems failure. I don't give two monkeys if you think that's arrogant and and not properly respecting "your guys". Paddy durcan is an absolute fine player. I will not say the Mayo team is dependent on him, like you said with Murphy, as that would be disrespectful to the rest of the Mayo team. If you want to read disrespect for the Donegal team, head on over to the Mayo blog. Apparently we're massively overrated, all down to the McGuinness hype, an ok team but not great, dependent on Murphy (yawn) etc etc. The difference is, we don't feel the need to go on there and correct every single comment expressing a confidence in their team. Donegal by 6!

Guaranteed to happen. We'll probably see one of the forwards making way with McHugh pushing up to half forward to curtail Durkin.

See my post above, I never say 'may need' as you put it. I said it was guaranteed as well as O'Shea being man marked. Stop making up false narratives.

Great to see Kevin Muldoon and Senan Carr in the U-20 team of the year. There's probably a really obvious answer to my question but can they be bolted onto the senior squad at this point?
